I keep hearing this saying that if a woman makes eye contact with a man and smiles at him, it means she is interested in him and she wants him to talk to her or ask her out.

Is this a complete myth? I think it is a myth.
If it is true, HOW true is it? ( for example, true 70% of the time)

I would think that she is interested. If not, why the smile, or perhaps she just wants to flirt with you. In either event, you won't know for sure unless you ask.

It's not always the case. For example, if I feel some eyes on me, I'll turn around, make eye contact and smile. That's just to acknowledge the man's presence. It doesn't mean that I want to hold a conversation with him.
For me, the big difference is how I smile. If I show teeth and look for a prolonged period of time, then that means I'm interested. If I just casually smile and do not show teeth, then I'm just trying to be polite.

worry of rejection or so i've got been advised! I went via a factor with some women individuals giving me prolonged eye touch and that i replaced right into slightly puzzled as i could been delivered approximately have faith a woman could smile at you besides if she replaced into fascinated; she would desire to be gazing somebody or some thing else for occasion or despite women individuals do start up up this all with that preliminary eye touch yet those staring contests have been getting quite strange i replaced into getting those a lot from one woman particularly and so I asked her why women individuals merely stared at adult males like that yet did no longer smile. She mentioned it replaced into using a terror of being rejected i'd desire to work out her viewpoint in that if she held eye touch and smiled she could be giving all of it away. If the guy she replaced into interested in did no longer return that she'd then be quite embarrassed for sure woman ought to fend off a lot of advances from adult males so that's not probably of their interest to take that preliminary sign of interest too some distance so they bypass away it to the guy to handle the embarrassment because it shows self assurance on his section yet to be elementary it makes extra experience to place that each and every physique aside besides. in case you like a woman merely strengthen a pair and bypass consult from her

its all about the body language.

it might be a brief smile when walking down the street which says: "hey hows it going?" in which she never thinks of you again.

If its a seductive smile and she looks up at you for a while, then looks away when you look back, id say you have an 80% chance that she is interested.

look at the rest of her body language too. are her arms crossed? is she leaning away or towards you?

its difficult to tell but good luck! hope this helped xx

True 25% of the time? That's just a guess. I mean, that could mean a lot of things, like maybe you have something stuck in your teeth or she thinks the saying on your t-shirt is funny.

If she does it once, it's probably nothing. If she keeps looking and smiling, then it's likely that she's interested.

No its not a myth, when I am interested in someone, I make eye contact and smile, and I unknowingly move around ..i.e fix my hair, cross and uncross my legs, play with my necklace. for me I think 85% of the time I am making eye contact and smiling means Im interested.

Go for it and talk to them.

Its true probably about 90% of the time. 10%of the time you might just have something on your face and when you look over she feels bad for staring so she smiles to be polite.

I would say that it can be true, but don't expect it to be true if she does it once during an evening; wait and see if it happens at least two or three times, then definitely she is interested!

Yes that can be a sign. But it is also a way that woman say "hello" without speaking.
It's an 50/50
