many people today do not want to take responsibility for their own actions. therefore it is easier to say "oops,i made a mistake" than to say "i sinned" . as for false teacheers, the bible says there will be more and more as the end times approach. since most bible scholars believe we are in the end times, we should expect many false teachers to be appearing

Mistakes are not unforgivable ,, sins according to most teachers are the big bad boys that can only be forgiven by god or jesus or some one of the cloth ,, but mostly its like the difference between a scratch and a gash,, most people would rather say " it's just a scratch ,don't worry about it ."

Because sin literally means to miss the mark. It is an error. Errors are mistakes.

For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, - Hebrews 10:26 nasb.

The bible is clear there are mistakes (the bible calls them things we do out of ignorance) and sins (which are enumerated in the bible). They are not one and the same. There are false teachers because the bible says there would be, so that just means the bible is truth.

Because a "mistake" means that we are human and can learn from our error while "sin" means that we are obliged to beg forgiveness from "God"
Mistakes can be accidental while sin is always intentional.

Many don't believe in sin. Many people believe humans are basically good but make mistakes- they don't believe those mistakes are sins.

how is that false teachings? no one said it wasn't a sin. i know when i've done wrong. i will not deny it, for that is a sin in itself. a lie to yourself and to God.

perhaps it is the sugar coating..?

i have not denied it and acted as if it were only a mistake and not a sin, as if they differentiated.

I agree with fluke...you say sin and that's fine...someone else says mistake and that should be fine too...

Making a mistake seems unintentional to me ,when you sin you have to know what sin is first, and if you do know, and do it anyway that would be intentional.
