I watched the first twenty minutes of the so-called "documentary" Zeitgeist. What I would like to know is this: Exactly which sources did the makers of the movie Zeitgeist use?

Because they LIE. First of all, they need to specify which Horus they're talking about. Is it Horus the Child, Horus the Elder, or Horus Son of Isis? If it's Horus Son of Isis, perhaps they need to go back and read some Egyptian mythology. Isis was NOT a virgin, Horus was NOT crucified, he did NOT have twelve disciples, and he was NOT resurrected after three days.

What cracks me up is that people seem to consider themselves experts in pre-Christian mythology after watching Zeitgeist and reading "Sixteen Dying and Rising Gods" but they don't bother to read what REAL scholars have to say about it.

REAL scholars (and by "real" I don't necessarily mean Christian, most of them are NOT Christians but have studied religion thoroughly) don't believe Zeitgeist for one moment.

Read this article, it's pretty extensive, and has a VERY long list of sources:

Since the previous answer was so good, I'll limit myself to saying that the video is factually mistaken.

There are several GLARING errors in the video. The one that stands out the best to me is that of all the examples of "sun gods" given, only Jesus has extra-religious references, including, but not limited to, Josephus, a first century Roman historian.

It was interesting to watch.

I watched all 3 videos. I found them entertaining at best. My faith in Christ Jesus and God stands firm. Now I have a video for you...

P.S. There's no other name given to men by which they can be saved. (Horus isn't that name.) Call on Jesus and be saved.
