I was lucky to spend good years with both my biological grandmothers, and a few years with a great step-grandfather--but both of my biological grandfathers died before I was born.

Yes i am one of the blessed ones. I was born in my grandmothers house and she died in mines. I knew all of my grandparents except my paternal grandfather, He died before i was born. But i did have the privilege of enjoying a step-grandfather. And i am now the matriarch of four generations. My mother deceased last July. The matriarch of five living generations. It's exciting.

I never knew my biological dad so I don't know my grandparents on his side but on my moms side I know my grandmother and grandfather and then just my great grandmother for that one. On my stepdad's side I knew both of my grandparents and all four of my great grandparents. I consider myself very fortunate to have grew up with these people.

Of the ones listed above only 2 great grandparents are alive 3 of them had all died within a year of each other 3 years ago. All all of my grandparents are still alive.

I knew three of my grandparents. My paternal grandfather died in 1963. He had had a series of strokes and died at the age of 68. His wife, my grandmother lived until 1993. She was 95 years old.

The only grandfather I knew was my moms dad. He was such a wonderful man. He was a school teacher and principal when he was alive and seemed to know a little bit about everything. One time, when I was a little kid, he impressed my socks off when he was able to say his alphabet backwards faster than I could say it forwards. Needless to say, I had to learn how to do that. I still can do it 30 years later :-)

My maternal grandmother is still alive. She will be 90 years old next April. I have been truly blessed to have had them as long as I have/did. I sure hope I take the longevity gene from them!

At the time of my birth, I had my 2 grandmothers, 1 grandfather, and 3 great-grandmothers living. That was in 1969. I am now down to just one grandmother.

I know most of my grandparents very well. My grandmothers are both still alive, as well as my paternal grandfather. My mother never knew her father but her adoptive father was alive when I was young. I also have a step-grandmother who I have spent a fair amount of time with. ALSO, both of my paternal great-grandmothers just died recently so I got a good 20 years with them.

No. My maternal grandfather died before my mother married. My Grandmother did not remarry until about 20 after his passing. And my step-grandfather was wonderful, especially for her. I don't remember her ever being happier. I knew both paternal grandparents and they were great!

I sure did know my biological grandparents--on my mother's side, and step-grandparents on my stepdad's side (though he was more of a father to me than my biological one was). My mother's parents practically raised me when I was growing up and I miss them very much (they died in 1991,about 2 1/2 months apart, after 63 years of marriage). My step-grandmother was nice and I miss her too, but my step-grandfather never really spoke to me all the years I knew him. It bothered me when I was a little kid, but I grew out of it as I got older.

Only one. My paternal grandfather was in an oil refinery explosion when my father was 13 and died the next day.

My maternal grandmother died about 3 months after I was born. My maternal grandfather died about a year and a half after I was born.

I only have memories of my paternal grandmother.

I was very close to both of my grandmothers and I'm still close to my paternal grandfather. I only saw my maternal grandfather once that I can remember. He died when I was 5. I also had a maternal step-grandfather. However, he was evil incarnate.

No. I've only known my grandmothers, my grandfathers both died long before I was born.
