You can drink Friday and Saturday and be in the clear. Most doctors recommend you do not drink alcohol 48 hours prior to surgery. In the first 48 hours after surgery do not drink alcohol as it dilates the blood vessels, and could result in increasing postoperative bleeding.

I don't think so, but you shouldn't drink liquids on Monday, because the next day you are going under anesthesia. You should ask your doctor or surgeon about it. The reason why you can't drink liquids before the surgery day, is in case you wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the surgery.

Good luck :P

Sat and Sunday should be OK. But give the alcohol at least 24 hours to get out of your system.

getting the correct amount of anesthesia - enough but not too much -is tricky. alcohol with in 24 hours could give readings to the anesthesiologist that could complicate proper dosages, and be unsafe for you.

Listen to the instructions that your doctors provided you, but usually it's nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before. Definitally don't have alcohol for at least a day before. Call you doctors office and ask for sure, I have no idea what your condition or procedure is, so it's hard to answer.

I think it is just 24 hours prior to surgery that you have to cut food/alcohol out of your diet. It is best to ask your doctor for advice. You have to tell the anesthesiologist if you had anything to eat or drink before the surgery - they will ask you anyways

It's rare but it can happen. That's why most vets charge a fee for doing blood testing to see how the internal organs are doing.
