Why do you think hard core Christians don't learn about science?

Neither.

There are two kinds of knowledge: Revealed and observed.

For the Christian, a revelation occurred as spoken through the prophets. It is this revelation that strengthen Christians. God made a promise and kept it with Jesus.

As for science (to know), there is the scientific method which tell us how to create scientific theories that explains scientific facts. This neither strengthens or weakens religion.

Answer: God reveals, man observes.

I am not sure about other religions but I have always been taught to get and education and gain as much knowledge that I can. Because it is the only thing I can take with me. I am LDS. But I have never felt that my beliefs have been weakend in my quest for knowledge. Because when you get all the way down to it, even the smartest scientist can only attribute everyting to a higer power of some sort. I just happen to believe that higher power is God.

Knowledge does not weaken religion. In the bible it says that knowledge will increase. Revelation 10:7 tells us that we will even receive more knowledge of God: "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets." So, what the average Christian knows about God will increase, prophets already know God.

True knowledge does not weaken "religion". Pride and self weaken a persons "religion" Relying on ones own understanding weakens your religion.

Are you sure about that? I disagree that religion can be weakened by knowledge. I've found that the more I learn, the more strength my faith gains. And yes, even when I study science, history and archaeology my faith continues to grow.

Knowledge in no way weakens religion.

The New Testament says that..."because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.Because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise they became fools, and changed the glory of incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man - and birds, and four footed animals and creeping things. Romans1:20-23 God bless!!

Knowledge can only strengthen religion. Case and point "Catholic apologetics." Everyone would have a hard time pointing out the flaws in logic of relgion if they read more about Catholic apologetics.

Hope this helps

Only knowledge that is inconsistent with religious tenets is dangerous. Knowledge that is consistent is always joyfully received as evidence of god's wisdom and knowledge.

That is true of all religions, please don't diiscriminate against christians.

LOL...sorry, God and Jesus both tell us to SEEK KNOWLEDGE, so, what you are saying is rather ludicrous.

Peace be with you :)
