The original triple crown was the Winston Million
It was based on the following tracks
Daytona-The 500-The Richest
Charlotte-Coke 600- The longest
Darlington-Transsouth financial 400-oldest
Talladega-Winston 500-The fastest
In order to win the million dollars you had to win 3 of these 4. Only two drivers in history did it, Jeff Gordon and Bill Elliott. They should bring this back.

The Triple Crown is the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, Coca-Cola (formally the World) 600.
The Million dollar race is the former Winston now know as the Nextel All-Star Challenge.

Lest we forget, along with the Winston Million tracks as mentioned above, a few years back Winston introduced the "No Bull 5" program which ran for at least two seasons. In that format, if memory serves, a driver who ran top five in a No Bull race would earn a million dollar bonus for winning the next "No Bull" race on the sked. I know it was won several times, but cannot recall the winners. Not exactly a "grand slam" sort of thing, but it certainly added some interested to a handful of races.

They used to have the Million Dollar thing. Cant remember what it was called. Bill Elliot and Jeff Gordon is only ones to win it I think. Winning the Daytona 500, Coke 600, and the Southren 500 in same year. I should know the name of it but slipped my mind.

that's gorgeous to be Welsh and that i'm an exceedingly proud Welsh woman. It became impressive to win the two the Grand Slam and the Triple Crown yet on the top of the day that's a pastime of rugby (and that's coming from a passionate rugby supporter of many years!!) we've come an prolonged way because of the fact the worldwide Cup and that's something to be very happy with. we are maximum actually no longer shallow!!

They'd have to get rid of the Chase.
In the old days, each of the 36 races scored the same number of points toward the Championship.
Now, with the Chase, it's like a caution flag.
Someone who gets a big lead can still stay in first, but 2nd is right on his bumper.
If they did Majors, they'd have to just do Double Points.

Sure do, I think there should be several awards to reward drivers at the Championship ceramonies. Kinda like the oscars. One for Most improved driver, Most consistat over 5 seasons, and career accomplishments
The triple crown should be:
Talladega
Charlotte
and one of the road courses
