What is a Working Holiday Visa?
A Working Holiday Visa is available to people between the ages of 18 and 30. Unfortunately, anyone over this age must have sponsorship in order to be able to work in Australia.

Australia's Working Holiday Visa allows you to supplement your travel funds while on extended holiday in Australia.

A Working Holiday Visa is only granted once and allows a stay of up to 12 months from the date of first entry to Australia, regardless of whether or not you spend the whole time in Australia. If you wish to return to Australia to continue working after this period, you must apply for sponsorship.

Where Can You Apply For a Visa?
A Working Holiday Visa cannot be granted in Australia. All visa applications must be made overseas. A Working Holiday Visa can be obtained by making an application over the Internet to the Immigration Department at http://www.immi.gov.au or by lodging a written application at an overseas visa office.

Come and check it out for yourself as a backpacker. All you need is a tourist visa, and a return ticket [check that - you may not actually need to buy the return ticket, as long as you can show that you have enough money to purchase one before your visa runs out].

If you are willing to do some volunteer work experience harvesting our agricultural products then we can arrange food, lodging and transport. We will sponsor you. You may even be elegible for a cash bonus prize.

Check it out man [the Open Book Club is a Yahoo Group, so you will have to book in]. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for a work visa in Australia - it's a lot quicker.

I went to Australia for a few months on a working holiday visa. It allows you to stay in Australia for a year and work in order to fund your travels. The downfall is that any job you take must be casual, because you can only work at any one place for a maximum of 6 months. You can check if you're eligible here:

If you'd like to find out if you're eligible for something a bit more long term, then check out some of the links on the left hand side of the page for more info.
