This seems to come up a lot. Wonder if I should just do a copy/paste? I'll add a bit. If this question keeps getting asked every day, it'll probably get refined over time.
Well, first of all there's the complete lack of any verifiable evidence for the existence of any God. If God existed, one would expect him to leave behind SOME evidence.
Then, the fact that there are so many religions, all mutually exclusive. They can't all be true, and if a single one is true, why would the god(s) of that belief system allow the other religions to arise? Or, if there is a god not represented in any human religion, why has this deity not revealed itself?
Then there are the incidental tenets of most religions. The idea that an all-powerful and all-knowing deity would care if people eat fish on Fridays, or be offended by the female face, or have an obsession with gay sex is just ridiculous. The thought that such a being might kill every living thing on the planet (including children and animals) as punishment for some hazily-defined "wickedness," or subject unbelievers to eternal torture, or force people to sin in order to have an excuse to punish them, or make rape a capital crime for the VICTIM is also ridiculous, and argues for an EVIL god if any.
Then, there are the truly despicable actions of some religious believers, committed in the name of their God. Eric Robert Rudolph and Osama bin Laden, Fred Phelps and David Koresh, so many others. What kind of God would allow these people to represent him? Perhaps an evil god, or one completely indifferent to humanity, but not a god worth worshiping.
As to the classic "where did everything come from if God didn't do it?"
If you are in fact seriously seeking to understand (and sadly, many here ask questions like this without any real interest in understanding), there's too much information to provide it all here. Read up on science, basic physics and cosmology, chemistry, biology, obviously the Theory of Evolution is something to look into. REAL science, not the caricatures and strawmen some churches specialize in. Don't just pull up some creationist website or apologetics ministry, actually study, and be willing to re-examine your assumptions. You can learn a lot, if you're WILLING to learn.

The thing is that anything you don't understand you seem to believe that God did it. Atheists, on the other hand, are willing to accept that they don't know the answer to everything but there is certainly no evidence that a supreme being (i.e. God) was resonsible for it.
Evolution explains how humans came about. Even the Pope accepts the science behind evolution.
Astrophysics explains how the earth and stars came about.
Women have had miscarriages at all times during their pregnancies so there was no shortage of fetuses to give someone a clue what the stages of pregnancy might look like.

I refuse to believe something that has no proof to back it up. All you have is a book. Do you believe everything you read? I have yet to see any evidence that a "god" exists. Besides that, if there was a "god", why would he take my mother at the young age of 52 when there's murderers, rapists and child molesters roaming the earth?

Wow! you have some subjects genuinely. i think all and sundry has hangups approximately something... Atheists do not spend their days blaming God for each thing! i comprehend this as I certainly have buddies that are Atheists and are additionally the a number of nicest human beings i've got ever met. they don't believe in a god! If somebody makes use of "God's call in ineffective", that is because of the fact of frustration and that they in all probability do not even realize it. specific words are purely reported that they are purely ordinary without finished wisdom of their intending to a pair human beings (such as you). So, discover ways to tackle your hangups and cool down and seem on the bigger image too.

Why don't you believe in Zeus?
"where did humans come from if not created by God"
From something not quite human.
"How did earth come about"
Debris and gravity mainly. And a really long time.
"why does the quran which is thousands of years old describe the stages of a baby in its mothers whome and how stars are formed and much more if theres no God"
It really doesn't. Only if you're willing to stretch the truth so much and are so blinded by faith that you can't be called objective.
"theres no way that people from prophet mohammads time knew that"
and indeed they didn't.

As politely as I can answer:
Not everyone has the same perspective and the same experience as you do. This is your belief, but not everyone shares that belief. Also, people's perspective changes over time, so you may not feel so strongly in the future about what you are stating now. For the record, there are many Atheists--myself included--who used to believe but have embraced different values.
I, for one, will not abdicate the experience of my life to a non-existent being.

1) Quran is not thousands of years old. 2) Did god teach modern phsyicians these things or did we learn them through science? 3) it is spelled 'womb' 4) Scientists just learned how stars were formed in the 20th century 5) Ever heard of the Anthropic Principle? it is a 'human' thing, not just a 'man' thing.

To believe in something that mortal men/women tell me to be real without any proof of such claims is impossible for logical minds to comprehend. Why believe in christian mythology and not Greek mythology,, or Norse? Oh never mind those people who held those beliefs were murdered by Christians.

It's logical. Look at the universe...we've discovered maybe 1/10000000000000000th of it's secrets. Whatever created it is far far FAR more complex than we could ever understand.
There might be a 'god'...but not any like we think.
