in order to remove distractions. I get a little anxious when I am in an area that I am unfamiliar with. Looking for an address in a n unfamiliar area causes me to have to split my attentions between the road in front of me and the faces of the houses or buildings on the side. Music or uneccessary noises add to what my attentions are being drawn to. Removing the distraction makes me feel a little more secure and allows me to focus on what is important, safety and finding my destination.
