Not everyone. But more and more are getting them installed. I have one. I like it, it has already saved my bacon from a bogus excessive force claim.

Patrol cars are owned and maintained by individual departments. No department has the money for everything they would LIKE to have in all the cars. The only things they CAN'T do without are lights, sirens, and a radio. Everything else is a luxury.

not all it costs i have one in my car pointing out front and one aimed at the window is costs me about a 1oo a month but for some reason it cost cops 10 times more for the same thing.
as long as i have a cell signal it works great i think the cop ones have a VCR in the trunk and thats why it costs more

For some reason, the CHP does not. A lot of city cops have them. IMHO - it should be a law that all officers have them (in sealed recording devices). It protects both the cop and the citizen.

No but they should. There are some hilarious things that go on when you ride with a police officers. There are also some awful things that happen to them and it would be great to have it on camera for evidence.

nah but the cams are not just there to help build a case on you, but also to make sure that the officer counducts himself in a professional manner. its good to think that they all do
