You can follow a 1200 calorie per day diet to get the results you seek. However, When you lose the weight, you will regret that you didn't do any exercise because you are going to have some serious excess skin that will not go away. Exercising while dieting at the same time allows the skin to get firmer once you start losing weight.

There are a million fitness videos out there. There are several workout shows on TV you could tape and watch later when you have time. You can actually do many kinds of excercise in your home with nothing more than a weight of some sort like a can of beans. The key to your weight loss is that you have to find something that works for YOU. I think for someone your age maybe one of the dance routines might be fun to try.

Hey, you're exercising - situps, volleyball and Yoga.

But may be the way you're doing them isn't right?

Try these:

1. Cardio exercise - in your case, walking. However, since you don't like walking, I think you gotto try something else because if you don't like walking, it's hard for you to stayput in the program long for u to get results.

How about swimming? Biking? Running? Jogging? Dancing?
Moutain climbing? Kick-boxing? Rope jumping?

Choose one exercise or activity you like and interested in, that can rev up your heart rate continuously for at least 30 mins per session.

The cardio exercise helps to raise your metabolic rate higher, to burn off your body fat from your entire body, so you lose weight.

Cardio 4-5 times per week, for at least 30 mins per session, to crank up your metabolism, to burn fat.

2. Eat a healthy, well-balanced and nutritious diet that's bank on lots of veggies & fruits, good fat, lean protein, fiber and moderate amount of carbohydrates plus drinking plenty of water (mind you, just plain, old water; not sugared sodas, juices and beverages).

Consistently and regularly do these 2 things simultaneously and you'll see your fat melt away and you go down in size.

Don't pay attention to all the ridicules piled on you. The people who do that to you aren't worth your effort to give them your attention, anyway......

Just concentrate on your exercise and diet.

And no gym isn't the end of exercise for you. The exercise I recommend above can all be done at your own leisure and at home.

Excess weight or obesity is by far the number one health concern in this country. Sixty percent of Americans are either overweight or obese, including over 20 percent of teenagers. All are at risk for serious physical and emotional health problems.

Over three-quarters of obese adults, for example, suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, coronary heart disease, diabetes or osteoarthritis. Nearly 40 percent have more than one of these conditions. They are also at risk for stroke and cancer. There are over 300,000 deaths per year from weight related causes.

Body Mass Index or BMI is a good way to determine if you are carrying too much weight. The BMI is based on your height and weight, but it gives a better estimate than the older ideal body weight tables. Click here to calculate your BMI.

Although there are many general causes for weight problems, the most responsible self-empowering one is that you’re simply eating too many calories for the amount of energy you’re expending. To control your weight you either have to decrease your calories or increase your exercise or some combination of the two. On and off dieting will not take care of the problem. Maintaining a healthy weight is a matter of day by day conscious control of both the amount and types of foods you eat and the level of physical activity in your life.

You need some physical exercise! You should decide how many calories you want in your diet, and then I would recomend looking for items that are low calorie, but also low fat, but it all depends on what you are doing for your diet. The main thing for a diet to work is just to consume fewer calories than what you are burning, so lower calorie is best. But the thing about just lower calorie is that you don't want to get something that is lower calorie, but still has a ton of fat, and you don't want to get something that is low calorie but with a ton of sugar. Just look at the labels and you need to figure out what fits into YOUR diet.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Walking is the best exercise there is to burn fat. Doing 10,000 steps a day at a conversational pace will burn fat immediately. Running burns carbs for energy and only after that runs out do you begin to burn fat. Stick with the walking and make breakfast your largest meal of the day. The key is to stick with it.
