Free will is to be unrestricted and non-threatened so that you may do what you desire or choose to do or to believe.
You exercised free will when you were permitted to ask the question at all, be it right or wrong. You exercised free will again when you decided where to ask the question, be it the best place or not. You can exercise free will again by deciding which responses, in your opinion best answer your question , be they factual or speculative or worthless.
You also have the free will to ask Engineering questions in the Philosophy section.
