Assalam Alaikom, Brother,
To me, a Muslim is a Muslim. Maybe because I am a revert, I don't get distracted by these things, but I see serious dangers facing ALL Muslims, and yes, Khalid, we need to stand united as one Ummah to face them. You have my word, not only in YA, but in real life as well.Jazakallahu Khayran

I am with you Khalid.

But it is not easy. I wish muslims will be united as we all have the same God. We have no other God except Allah SWT.

I am not a nihillis, but when it comes to faith, I am really admitting that I have given no right to make people believe to what I believe. Al Qur'an said so VERY CLEARLY, and in FACT it is correct and sensible.

I never try to make anybody believe what I believe, I only tell why I believe what I believe with no other intention except telling about me.

I saw here in R&S a guy telling about the Shiites, I doubt it if that was true.
I believe Ali(a.s) was so devoted to the prophet , that's the "lead and the sample" he was showing to everybody who claim as Islam.

I believe thepresent President of Iran is a good man and a good leader for muslims. (I dont know why, it is just me).
I hope Musharaff, from Pakistan has got courage to defend and protect the muslims and not deviding the militants against the moderates.

The militants I hope, will accept the moderates.

Taliban? I dont know who they are, how they think and what they are up to, and why they are the way they are. I really wonder, as I dont think Qur'an and Muhammad s.a.w would agree to what they are showing to us in their conduct.

Anyway , I wish the muslims anywhere realize that we have the same God, and dont fight between us.

I dont want us muslims fighting others either for the sake of Islam.
I dont mind people fight against humiliation and unfairness, which have nothing to do with religion.

It is bad enough to see racialist against skin colour, because no body ever choose where they were born.
Racialists are fighting nothing but The Creator.

Well, I am glad that I am getting older and had lived in many different cultures and tribes, as well had enough seeing and experiencing pains and troubles. Nothing is so important anymore. I am not giving up, but I am living a day by day life. I will not have dreams anymore.

Fo, though you've stated few things that I agree with, your argument has no relevance whatsoever with the question asked.

I'm not a Muslimah, and do not believe in the concepts and mythological background of religion, but will answer this question as objectively as my mind can, and not how I personally view this or any other religion.

As long as there are groups of Muslims arguing over whom the "revelation" (or their version of the true Qur'an) was revealed to (only one among the many opposing views between Shia and Sunni) there will always be problems.

Why?

Because most religious people (in general) don't seem to have the ability to keep their religious beliefs to themselves, they feel some sort of inclination to impose their views on the rest of the world. Due to this ego-driven and oppressive way of thinking, there will always be division.

If religion was kept at a personal level and with an open-mind (meaning that you don't have to bash or hurt someone because they don't share your religious beliefs,) then there wouldn't be deaths, persecution and violence in the Middle East, as in the rest of the world.

To bring unity, religious people have to get over their own egos and accept that other people have their own way of seeking "spirituality" or "enlightenment", not necessarily right or wrong, just THEIR own way.

More, sometimes, people like myself post portions of the Quran or other holy books of Islam that are contraversial.

I suggest a three-fold approach to these:
1) Never respond with, "It's not in context" without giving the missing context, calmly.
2) Try to understand their concerns. The West hears all sides, including the "All Islamic people are terrorists," which is very untrue, but still is heard alongside, "All Islamic people love peace," which is also untrue. They need to hear an educated and measured response from Islamic people, which cannot happen if you let people upset you. Understand them, then respond to their fears, their concerns.
3) The West is already tired of Christians citing passages from the Bible as if it is truth (whether it is or not). When similar passages are cited from Islam you lose half your audience. Always start such sharings with explanations of the passage in ways Westerners will understand, despite our differences.

You will never stop fighting each other until you begin to accept free speech for your people and freedom of religion.

I pray for that day, and the re-flowering of Islam as an example to the world of science, culture, and religious tolerance. Much of the West prays for that as well.

relies upon. See, being a muslim does no longer mean you all stick to a commonly used individual who instructions each and every thing of muslims to do issues. there is no pope in Islam. So, you will discover, no longer all muslims vow dying to individuals. remember of certainty, i've got met very few muslims who hated individuals, and none that hated us adequate to kill somebody. the only Muslim that i've got ever met who hated individuals lots became a Palestinian lady in Kuwait. would not look at me in any respect, which became form of annoying, because of the fact i became there to coach her a thank you to apply some utility. She became white skinned and pink haired, and the persons there (a team of Pakistani muslims) advised me it became because of the fact she became teased for looking very corresponding to a westerner.

I think we should be united against non-muslims but we should stay un-united other than that. Because we have major differences.
But this shouldn't make us hate each other. We should tolerate each other more than we tolerate the atheists I think. Allah knows the best.
