I don't understand why there are so many people who say "don't get a tattoo they're for evil people," or something to that extent. Why are you in the tattooing section then? Is it because you secretly want to get a tattoo but when you see such negative answers you just want to go with the flow? Why are these type of people trying to push their beliefs on us. If everyone did what was "the best" for us, then this would be a pretty boring world. So for those who are all about bashing people who have tattoes or want to get one...stay out of the tattoo section! And quit trying to push your beliefs on us..we get enough of that from everyday society. We should have to freedom to ask a tattoo question without being harrased or put down by immature idiots who are still stuck in the "my mommy told me so" stage. GROW UP!

There are plenty of jobs that hire people that have tattoos. People are hired for their skills and what they contribute. If it's that big of a deal that we have tattoos they can be covered up with some simple clothing. That's part of being an adult, being responsible for what you do. If my boss doesn't like my tattoo or thinks it's unsightly (which they don't, but I'm just saying), it's easy for me to take responsibility for my actions and cover it up...so NO me having a tattoo isn't going to stop me from getting a job...why are you going to a job interview not covered up anyways?

These people are repressed. They make assumptions about that which they have no clue on. Like the people that say 'You can't get a good job with a tattoo'. Oh really? Care to tell that to my boss who hired me for my accounting skills? Or people that have tattoos are delinquents. Is that so? I have not been to jail, I am not a drug user, I do not sleep around, I am married and I have tattoos.

We don't try to get you to change your beliefs for us, we honestly don't care. So please provide the same courtesy and let us do with our bodies as we see fit. We KNOW some people don't like tattoos. And that some people will judge us for them. That's OK, those are people we really don't want to associate with anyways.

It bothered me at first as well, but they are only answering questions off of the home page. Yes, it is incredibly annoying when they give opinion/"advice" and have no knowledge regarding the question being asked. Some just can't help themselves I suppose. I don't even look at the questions on the home page. If it's not in a category I'm interested in I don't bother. Unfortunately, not everyone follows that theory. Just ignore them as they only make themselves look foolish.

Look, I know you're trying to make a statement, not so much ask a question. But I will answer it anyways, as I think you should try to see things from other peoples' perspectives. Some people are just plain prejudiced. Others spit out what people tell them. But my take on this... I had wanted to get just a little ankle tattoo, something small, but then I thought about it. It's permanent. And it might look hot now, but am I really going to want it to be there 10 years from now? How about 20? My cousin got a tattoo a while back on her leg, and now she always has to make sure it's covered up when she goes to a job interview or something like that. Why? Because people will judge you for having it, and whether you like it or not, some people have very fixed and not open minds, and you can't change them. Sure, you may think you don't care about them, but it turns out that most of the people who have a lot of influence over things in your life like jobs are like that. You may regret the tattoo later. I'm just saying.

Exactly. And it doesn't cut out job possibilities-- how hard is it really to wear a long-sleeved shirt or pants?

Not to mention-- I tend to find guys with well-done, unique sleeves hotter than guys without. These people just have to realize that it's personal preference and it goes both ways.

I am an artist, and I choose to make my body a work of art and create a unique form.

they are shallow minded and try to push there opinions onto other people, they think that their way is Right and us who do appreciate tattoos are wrong.

i think they should just grow up and stop lookin at questions to do with tattoos if they are not a fan of them, and leave people who are to discuss ideas etc.

how would they like it if we went on about how disgusting they where cos they didn't have any?

they just dont seem to understand that a tattoo is a form of slef expression a form of ART!!!

Thank you for saying what I was thinking. Unto each his own.

Tattoos can be beautiful, meaningful or expressive. Takes some guts I think to get something on your body that you know someone at some point in time is going to make fun of. It's called being true to yourself.

They don't have anything better to do. A really common comment that really gets me is "they only get them for attention", what a load of bull. Oh well, I guess they can't get over the fact that we don't care what they have to say if that's all it will be.

Because they've got no place else to go; nothing better to do; and get no other enjoyment out of life- besides making OTHERS unhappy... Unfortunately- these people will NEVER "grow up"- because they're already gotten "too old..."
