Try this:

1. Pinch your nostrils shut
2. Take a mouthful of air
3. Using your cheek and throat muscles, force the air into the back of your nose as if you were trying to blow your thumb and fingers of your nostrils
4. Or you could pinch your nose and close your mouth, and then gently blow out
5. If all fails, ask your doctor about it

Some divers tricks, if swallowing doesn't work, pinch your nose shut and try slowly pushing air into your nose. Don't allow air to escape just keep increasing the pressure until your ears equalize. I do this slowly as too fast can hurt.
