He is so popular because he is an Earnhardt. People do expect more of him, but at the same time we are also more patient and enjoy just watching him because of who he is - his legacy and what it is he reminds us of. He is the spirit of NASCAR for a lot of us and looking at him reminds us of Dale Earnhardt Senior. Whether or not he wins, he will maintain a loyal fanbase throughout his entire career.

Jr has some of his fathers fans and some of his own that`s what makes him so popular and he is funny to listen to on radio during the race him and Tony Jr .
And he`s more like the average guy and of course Bud.

It doesn't hurt being the son of one of the greatest drivers ever Dale Sr.. Dale Jr is a real down to earth person, very easy to like, plus having budweiser as your sponsor, I think he's hot, and he loves his fans...
