I know the feeling *ouch* What works for me is just stretching those sore muscles every morning and every time I run or work out,
Take a warm bath and relax those sore muscles!

i just started up field hockey for the fall and i'm extremely sore as well. advil can help a little (liquid gels work faster) and i heard some of my teammates say that icy hot is really good to put on sore muscles. I would also drain your lactic acid to help with leg pain by laying down and putting your legs up on the wall (make a 90 degree angle) for about 15 minutes. It helps your muscles loosen up. Ice baths can help a lot too but those are too cold for me

Drink alot of water after you work out. It lubricates the muscles and helps with the soreness. I find that after I work out and wake up the next morning, stretching actually feels good and helps get the soreness out. I hope this helps!

You probably need an antiinflammitory because you are using muscles that have been dormant for a long time.
Try some ibuprofene...generic for advil.
Then stop taking it!
Good luck
