None unless you have educated yourself about breeding and none until the female you are planning to use has been tested for genetic and health issues prevalent in the breed. Also not until she has won championships proving her to be breed worthy.

kc papers allow you to register 5 litters of puppies I think. I allowed mine to have 3 with at least a year between them. Also wait till she is over 18months old. I would say 2 and a half. Just let her grow up and be a puppy first. You will have much healthier pups too.

Personally i wouldn't let her have any. there r far too many unwanted dogs and it sounds like you've never had pups before. They are very hard work.

If you still want to breed her, then go for some extra advice from vet.

I would say a good reputable breeder wouldn't breed any female over 3-5 times. A female shouldn't be bred until at least 2 years old and not any more than 1 litter per year. I also wouldn't recommend breeding unless you're trying to better the breed and strive for the AKC breed standard.

None - absolutely none - unless it is a dog so perfect for the breed that it is shown at AKC shows and bred "for the good of the breed".

Thousands upon thousands of dogs are killed every year because there aren't enough homes for them - why would you breed more???
Whatever breed you fancy has a rescue where you can adopt one and give it a good home.

Don't breed unless you have researched the genetic bloodlines back for generations and know that there are no defects in the line. Don't add to the misery of pet overpopulation.

Rescue and give a dog a good home - don't add more to the homeless population.

In my books, none. The pounds are full of unwanted, neglected dogs. The only people who should breed are the ones who are breeding for the betterment of the breed. Someone who knows what they are doing. I don't think they let their dogs have over 3 litters.

Most dogs should never even have one. A lot of responsible dog folks who have dogs with titles recognize the fact that their dog is not good breeding stock.

Personally, I wouldn't breed a top quality ***** more than three times. I believe it's too stressful beyond that.

I wouldn't stud a top quality male more than five times. I believe over using a male can adversely effect the gene pool, especially in breeds with limited numbers.

10, so then there will be 10 more litters of cute puppies that turn into dogs that get re-homed or end up at the shelter or worse on the streets.........

generally no more than one litter a year ---after she is at least 2-3 years old.any sooner takes too much out of the female-too many litters can take so much nutrtion out of the dog she may not give birth to a healthy litter. please don't forget there is so many unwanted puppies-what will you do if they don't find a home?you can't keep them all.

None until all the shelters in the country don't have to kill dogs because there are too many of them.
