My 3 mo old kitten has a watery eye, with a light yellowish color that comes out in small portions throughout the day, he also sneezes quite a bit. Otherwise he runs around and plays, eats fine, goes to the bathroom fine, sleeps fine, he doesnt meow or hiss or anything like that. He's completey normal besides the water coming from his eye and slight yellowish crust (barely though). He may have URI and i have some Terramycin. I don't want to go to the vet for him to tell me he has a kitty cold and prescribe Terramycin and charge me $87 for the visit like last time.

What do you think is wrong with him? Has anyone dealt with this before?

I got him from a rescue group and one of the other kittens from the bunch had URI. This was a month and 1/2 ago or so.. He's sneezed ever since I've had him. The watery eye started Monday.

I'm guessing it's an upper respitory infection (cold.) This isnt't that serious and can easliy be treated with an antibitotic and medication you will give him. But be aware, it can become more serious if not treated. Take to vet ASAP!

I have dealt with this, and I just took him to the vet, and he just gave the medication and after a week or so, he was fine!

If you have a dusty house, this could be the reason of sneezing.

Good luck, I really hope this helps you and your
kitty!!!! =^^= :D

Not another one! You're not the first person to post on here today with a cat exhibiting signs of cat flu.

If you don't want to accept a vet's advice, that's up to you. I just want you to be aware that this sounds like cat flu, and that's something very likely to be fatal in a 3 month old kitten. At the very least, you need to pick up the phone and ask a vet what dose of terramycin to give, if money is a concern.

This kitty was weened from her mother at a very early age. It sounds like the watery eyes are due to the URI. When I was a kid, we purchased a kitten at around that age that had a URI. She gave it to the older cats and we almost lost one of them because of it. Keep the antibiotic going until it is gone. If you feel that the watery eyes are unusually bad, go see the vet. Otherwise, the watery eyes should get better within time. It is part of the URI.

Yeah, I have had that, and it is a kitty cold, but I am not a vet, you could try giving him the Terramycin, and if that don't work take him to the vet. He might have an eye infection

Sounds like just a cold in his eye. When my cat gets these, I put a warm wet washcloth on his eye for about 5 minutes a time 2-3 times a day, along with giving him 1/2 children's asprin in his food. Brings fever down and doesn't hurt them at all.

My kitty had the exact same thing when she was three months old. I took her to the vet and he told me that she had a respitory infection and needed medicine. I couldnt afford the medicine and just left my cat and she was fine after a few weeks.

It's prob. and upper respiratory infection and or conjunctivitis.
Both can lead to severe illness if not treated.

Best case scenerio: you have a dusty, dirty house and as he's playing it makes him sneeze and his eyes water.

If you love your kitty you will have him checked out.
