If a person was in the AF and got a re-enlistment code of recode:2X and a spd:jbk and then joined the Army after a few months and got a general discharge for unsatisfactory preformance or a med board are they entitled to there VA benefits.

Also can they re-join the AF or even the Navy? In the reserve/guard or active component?

the army discharge is because I can't pass an apft due to not being able to breath properly. I don't know if they are actually going to do it but the medical personnel here haven't been to helpful and aren't trying to help me it seems. My problem is I can't do the run I max pushups and situps. The rumors flying are that I will be sent to a Med Board I want to stay in but it seems like they want me out. I have an honarable and dd214 and mgib from my AF time. I didn't get nothing from the Army other then a trip to Iraq in which I re-enlisted and got a bonus.

RE-2X- 1st term, 2nd term or career airman considered but not selected for reenlistment

JBK - Expiration of Term of Service

I'm not a recruiter, and not to clear what happen to get these codes. the general discharge isn't looking to great though

Try a recruiter, there are some codes like an RE4 that can get a waiver

It really depends on what kind of discharge you received. If it was a general discharge due to poor health or injury, that is not bad. Any company that looks into to hiring you will check your social security number and find out what they want to find out. You should not be afraid of that unless... You received a general discharge due to "the inability to adapt to military standards", you might have a problem because a lot of questions will arise like "if he can't hack it in the military, why should I hire him". Things like that. If you received a dishonorable discharge, you are not sitting pretty. That would be like having a felony on your police record. It could hurt your chances of getting a good job. Although the company that you are applying for will never tell you why they didn't hire you, it is probably the best guess on why you didn't get the job. I am not trying to scare you, but inform you on what can affect your chances with employment. I had received an honorable discharge it took a long time for me to get a good job when I left the military. Keep your head up. I am sure that you will be able to recover if your record is not that great.

If you were discharged as a result of a medical board report, without that report being sent on to a physical evaluation board, then it's clear your discharge is for a medical condition which existed prior to entry and was not aggravated by your period of service. So, there will be no award of disability and assignment to the disability retired list by the Army. If it's for a type of mental condition commonly called personality or characterological disorders, the VA will not even award you a disability rating in many cases.
In any case, the re-enlistment code on your DD-214 for your Army service will probably read "RE-4". No other service will take you with such a code.

I don't know about benifits, but I will say this. Two services have tossed you out or didn't want you, I seriously doubt that a third will give you a shot, especially since the Army was for "unsatisfactory preformance"

breathing problem.... asthma.... disqualifier for all services.. I even know someone who was active duty,.... passed all of their running tests... and was still kicked out because they were not worldwide deployable with asthma....
