Preferably something shaped like a band-aid, or doctor related something? I'm looking all over the internet for something for kids that could be used as a get-well treat, but I can't find anything. If anyone has links or ideas that would be great. Thanks

No, not a gift basket! This is for a dozen or so kids in a pediatric burn unit at the hospital my wife works at.

A cute idea would be to make sugar cookies (or use the pre-made ones that you just have to roll out) and cut them into a band aid shape. Then put some red food dye with a little yellow into white icing. Decorate them for detail with some sprinkles where the holes in the band aids are! That was just a random idea I had. You can never go wrong with just plain candy in a cute bag! Look at this http://www.anjelicasboudoir.com/WEBPAGE/pics/balloons/diybouq/bandaid.jpg its a really cute bandaid balloon, you might be able to find it somewhere, or you could just use that idea for the cookies. Good luck and that's really sweet of you to make a present for someone!!!

Depending on your personal baking and cake decorating skills, you could fashion a bandaid out of anything from a 9x13 sheet cake to a Twinkie. The Twinkies are the easiest - just get fleshtone and rolled fondant from your local AC Moore, Michael's or other craft store (in the cake decorating and candy-making section) and a small tube of black decorator icing. Cover the Twinkie with the fondant as directed then make a square in the center with the black icing and add a few dots of it within the square to represent the little vent holes. Then you can write "Get Well" on either side with any other color decorator icing. You'd pretty much do the same with a sheet cake or store-bought pound cake.
Good luck!

Vermont Teddy Bears has a wide variety of stuffed toys for "get well" and Hallmark has a floral line that you can combine many specialty items. You can always send Balloons, jelly beans, cookies and fruit too. My oldest was in and out of the hospital and always appreciated a travel sized toy she could pack and play with on the road. Hope his helps!
