Tv works pretty good for a while until screen blanks out and red light next to"on" button starts flashing. Could it be some kind of sensor. If it is can i buy it and replace it. Or how much is an estimated repair? I called a local repair shop and they charge $150 just to bring it in.

Is this a DLP or LCD? If it is a DLP it could be the bulb. I have a Toshiba and the bulb goes out about once a year.

well you dont say what kind of tv it is. but i assume its a rear projection. 43" huh. and lcd or crt? prob lcd. well it could be the lamp over heating. that could be from the cooling fan malfunction. or allot of dust on the fan or lamp . check the fan in the back does it run. can you see allot of dust in there (there probably will be in any case) if you fancy your self handy you could try to clean the fan blades or even try to take out the lamp to see how dusty it is. but dont leave any residue from your skin on it or it will blow when it gets hot. or maybe its something else ,i dont know im not a technician. but id get it checked out by a tech. it will cost you. thats for sure. how old is your set . is it worth getting fixed. id get an estimate. to see how much it would be. then see if its worth it to fix. yes it will cost you 120$ but thats only a smally percentage of what you paid for it. if its not too much id get it fixed then sell it and get more up to dat set. cause you cant sell a broken tv for very much. good luck hey wheres tv tech man i havent seen him in a while i know he would give a good answer

it would be the lamp overheating, if it reaches a certain temp it will shut down to prevent the lamp from shattering. Have someone look at your cooling fan!

with your limited info it could be a lamp if it is a DLP but maybe it is your sleep timer shutting it down.
