As I write this, the office big mouth - backstabber - shirker - blamer is packing her boxes and cleaning out her file cabinets. I had nothing to do with her ultimate demise -- management finally wised up and realized that she was a criminal waste of space.

The taste of justice is so sweet in my mouth that I can't help but to keep imbibing.

Any suggestions on how I can assuage my guilt at taking so much pleasure at her demise?

If you had nothing to do with her downfall, then why feel guilty?
If I was you I would get the excitement/ vengeance feeling out of my system by treating myself to a nice meal and a toast that justice was done in the office.

My friends and I did something similar to this after getting back a futon that was literally held hostage. We ordered pizza and did a round of toasting with coke lol!

Don't feel bad about it- if you can't take a disliking to a stooge how can you like someone who isn't a stooge? Can't have love without hate. Clearly you were a good judge of character in this case and feel satisfaction at the fact others have recognised this and done something about it- anyway, it's a lesson they can learn from- it's not as if they had they're legs ripped off in a freak canoeing accident or anything...

Don't feel guilty.

Just go to her office and give her a fake hug and say...

"I am sure you'll be missed by some of the people here."

Kind of a back handed compliment and says that you aren't necesasrily going ot miss her and your not sure who is, but somebody might.

Nice way to kick her in the pants on the way out.

Stop and think that it could have been you. You have just described my counter part and I was the one to be demoted.

If you didn't do anything there is no reason to feel guilty.

Count your blessings and get on with your life. Don't waste any time feeling guilty about your enemy getting her just reward.
