hmm and which country are you from then dear..... I am sure that some innocents where hurt in that conflict but it is a fact of life, innocents get caught in the cross fire and to be honest the Vietnamese don't seem to be holding as big a grudge as you are as they where trying to get to the USA by the boat loads after wards rather than stay in their own country.
and the USA along with the UK actually DO try to follow the rules of the Geneva convention.....hence why they are not chopping off heads of people and putting it on the internet, I also feel that the men that fought over there have had ENOUGH abuse thrown at them so just let it go

I didn't burn anyones house down. Lets not talk about violations of the Geneva convention in that conflict....I sure hope you don't think the Americans are the only guilty ones. If you saw a soldier walking down the street would you have the courage to make that statement to his face? Exactly......

America didnt "lose" in Vietnam because the United States never declared war upon Vietnam. That is why people refer to it as the "Vietnam Conflict"
President Johnson with the Gulf of Tonkin resolution was able to authorize military actions in Vietnam with out Congress declaring war.
As for burning down innocent people's houses, Why did the NVA/Viet Cong torture and abuse our POWS?
War is Hell. There has never been a war in history where someone didnt violate the rights of the innocents caught in the middle.

The United States goes out of its way to follow the Geneva conventions, something which the Viet Cong nor the Iraqi insurgents care to follow. If you're an American and you hate your own country that much, the rest of us have no use for you--and no one's forcing you to stay here and continue to take advantage of the freedoms you're spitting on. If you're not American, well, don't bother coming here. We're already full of people who are only too happy to milk the system for everything they can get while damning the country providing for them to hell. We need fewer hypocrites in this world, not more, thanks.

Different time, different place. Different set of circumstances. "Zippo Raids" were neccesary to ensure that those huts were not used by the nenemy to store weapons or as sanctuaries.
But then again, your mind is all made up, so why waste my time trying to explain it to you? You wouldn't care.

This applies to soldiers of every country that do not have integrity.
Most are honorable but serve leaders that are not irregardless of the leader's political affiliation.
Johnson and Nixon both screwed up Vietnam and the American G.I.'s bore the brunt of the so called "elected leaders."
The following can destroy our country.

The Vietnam countryside gets very cold, especially at night, so the houses were burned for heat.

I thought this was going to be about Iraq, where the homes of innocents are only occassionally blown up by accident, not burned down.
