Anything raw can contain bactera that is potentially bad, eggs just like raw chicken and other meat can contain Salmonilla. Cooking the egg kills bactera and makes it not dangerous.
They aren't saying that you WILL get sick from eating raw eggs, but there is a possibility.

Well that's just it, you CAN get sick from doing so. I don't think anybody is saying that you will 100% of the time, because it simply isn't true, but it's very possible to become rather ill from doing so.
I believe it is salmonila that one can get from ingesting raw eggs, but even that isn't nearly as serious typically as it's made out to be. I think more than likely one won't get sick, but I think doctors warn people, especially since you can easily cook an egg and then eat it.

If raw eggs sit out too long, and then you drink them, then you can get salmonella, but as long as you drink cold eggs from the fridge, then you will not be at risk for salmonella. I mean, if you cook the eggs, then you wil not get salmonella because the bad bacteria found in the raw eggs is cooked out and no longer contains any. It's the same w/ raw chicken and meat. It contains good nutrients, however, if you eat it uncooked, it could have harmful bacteria in it...

There was a problem with factory farmed eggs produced by hens in battery cages. Because the hens lived in their own filth, salmonella virus would get inside their cloaca's & they started laying unsafe eggs that could get you sick, that looked normal (no cracks, the way that most unsafe eggs look ).
So only buy eggs that are from cage free hens (it's a plus if they are free range. And if possible hens that are organic grain fed, as this stops the possibility of spreading Mad Cow Disease).

There is a slight possibility of picking up salmonella from raw eggs. However if they are using store bought eggs the risk is even lower. But not recommended.

ur grandpa and dad were probably lucky not to eat eggs laced with salmonella or had built immunity to it.
in the good old days, when chickens were raised on farms,, there were less diseases and they ate natural insects and grains.
nowaydays chickens are overpopulated in cages increasing the chnces of disease and eat unhealthy chicken feed which is supposed to make em fat quick.
it is always good to fry or boil eggs before eating them because even if salmonella is present which is very rare. boiling or frying it should ensure that the egg is safer to eat.
cooking even mildly not just eggs but veggies and obviously meats makes it easier for our stomach enzymes to break these things down and absorb the nutrients.

there are no proven benefits of consuming raw animal proteins. you are only increasing your risks of getting ill. consuming too many raw eggs can cause a biotin deficiency actually causing the metabolic rate to slow

well, the reason most tell you not to eat them is because some may contain salmanella. however, its really rare. so its kinda like a hit and miss thing as to wether you get it or not. other doctors tell you to eat them because the ones without salmanella are wonderfull for you. they are full of protein. well i hope this helps.
good luck.
