Assuming what you are saying is correct maybe the lower scoring applicants would be used in non combat roles. For example janitorial or some sort of maintenance role.

Some one who scores at 10 cannot enlist. Contrary to what some people think, they aren't taking everybody. They are not desperate. They have a standard and every applicant that meets the standard is given the opportunity to enlist and serve their country. They have reconsidered some of the policies they have enforced in the past. Previously if you had tattoos on your face or hands you could not join, now as long as the tats are not offensive or gang related you can get a waiver. Also the weight standard has been adjusted since we are becoming a nation with more obesity than ever before. Enlistees who are over weight can still join but, they are given a time frame to meet the standard or they are discharged from the Army. Please stop saying they take anybody because they do not.

The quote you used says "every applicant we enlist"; some will not pass the test and will not be enlisted. The point they were trying to make is that anyone who qualifies and enlists in the Army will get a bonus of some sort. As for making a ten on the test-sad to say I have actually seen lower scares from when I was recruiting. But to answer your question those applicants that pass and enlist is what the statement says.

First the Heritage link you were given is just uninformed propaganda. I would not say because it is that they are Christians per se. There are Christians of all stripes everywhere. You can't really argue economics because the state by state recruitment levels put forth are basically the more empty states. According to official DOD stats by region the South beats out all others in regard to recruitment. And contrary to popular belief the cold hard facts are in all regions that most enlistees have a high school degree and come from solid middle class families in non-urban areas. They have a choice. Popular belief says that it is those from urban areas who are underprivileged and have no choice but to join the military and be cannon fodder. Not so. That has always been a conundrum for the military. Those who would benefit most by joining (say inner city kids) are not as likely to join. Theory is the south politically and culturally tends to be more conservative. That fits right in with being in the military.By the way looking at it regionally the midwest comes in second recruitment wise.

LOL. If it weren't for weirdo scum...the USMC would have no recruits! ;) I'm just kidding, sort of, jarheads.

Why should the military be any different than society at large? For example, college degrees are pretty much toilet paper now. They let anybody in...and anybody graduate. I won't even start on public officials...

And there is one very important benchmark for military service....a miminum degree of mental toughness that your average joe on the street simply does not possess. Yeah, there are going to be a lot of dummies in the military now. But, they will be vets. An honor too many so-called men that have never served in the millitary will never know. Bottom line: no military, no USA. Everybody should take their turn to defend their own families and freedoms. Bush's perversion of our service members' good faith enlistments is unforgivable.

Basically they will take anyone right now, but the downfall is the lower the test scores the less likely they will get to choose their (MOS) Military Occupational Specialty. They will be infantry.
