It is not right and they should be immediately deported back after the baby is born. The hospitals need to turn these people over to the state.

Alternatively, we could just stop giving the illegal immigrant parents of children born in the U.S. special privilege in legal status. Then, when illegal immigrants give birth, it doesn't help them, but we also don't take away birth-right citizenship.

Like every amendment to the constitution the touchy-feely bleeding heart crowd perverts and corrupts the wording so it means what they want. US Citizenship should depend on the parents either being a US citizen, by birth or naturalization, nothing less. Not one parent is legal the other is not. BOTH parents.

By clearly defining the amendment we can get a lot of these kids that are draining our economy off the rolls for programs like WIC and Welfare. Further we solve the bleeding hearts biggest complaint. We would no longer be breaking up families we can deport them all.

no it isn't right. and i believe that the government isn't honoring that anymore, but i'm not positive.
I love when a baby is born with lead in the system and somehow it is not the parents fault. We rented to a family of mexicans and had the state fine us because a 3 month old baby had high lead in his system. The state claimed that he ate lead based paint, but there wasn't any in the apartment. They found some on a second story gutter. So the follow the logic that the baby is sucking on the gutters, before he can crawl. hmmm puzzling isn't it.
off my rant, yes it is total BS that they get automatic citizenship. What is worse is that they have more rights then people that were born here.

The 14Th amendment has been misinterpreted for decades. Look at the phrase "SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF" To be a LEGAL child, one of the parents Is supposed to be subject to the jurisdiction of the UNITED STATES. Clearly if {BOTH} parents are ILLEGAL,then that child Is also ILLEGAL.

Regarding the comment "SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF":
The moment a person crosses into our borders they are, as far as the law is concerned subject to our laws even if their entrance was illegal. Therefore they are also subject to enjoy the rights and privelages that this country offers even for a short time.

It's not right in my opinion. Illegals should take their children with them. I know I would not want someone else raising my child. Two illegal don't make A citizen.

It isn't "right" and it never should happen. Our 14th amendment has been interpreted to grant citizenship to these anchor babies.

The only purpose it serves is to encourage illegal immigration.

The correct law would require one parent to be a legal CITIZEN, not a resident, green card holder, visa holder or visitor.

It might not be right or fair but that's the way it is. We just all have to deal with it. Plus America is made out of immigrants so who cares.

It's not right and does not happen in other countries so why do allow it here?
