No that doesn't make you a druggie. I don't think that you should use NyQuil as a sleep aid that's not what is 4. You could become hooked on it. Find another method of getting a good nights deep sleep.

Drug induced sleep doesn't seem to give me much rest...
The formulas on cold medicines have changed so much lately that it is hard to get the same version on 2 consecutive trips to the pharmacy.
Nyquil used to be 50 proof, virtually the same as a cold pill with a Jack Daniels chaser. If the 25% alcohol is still there, and you are a fairly small person, that could be considered improper use. Several OTC "sleep aids" used to be exactly the same formula as cold pills, so the 2 really aren't that different. You might try a glass of wine before bedtime and see what that does.
What you don't want to do is NEED it to get to sleep... or anything else without proper medical supervision.

That does not make you a druggie. There's so little alcohol in it, that you can't even get addicted to it. As long as you're not taking it every single night, there's nothing to worry about. But do be careful, because Nyquil's got Tylenol in it and the active ingredient in Tylenol's been shown to cause liver problems.

For those who say you can't get addicted to it, they are wrong!
You may not become physically dependent (addicted to the chemicals causing withdrawals if you don't use it) but you may become psychological dependent. That's where your brain says it can't function (in your case sleep) with out this certain stimuli.
Now I wouldn't say you are a druggie, but you definitely need to be careful. If you are having trouble sleeping, then there may be a real reason for it. Try to set the stage for a good night's rest before going to medications. Make sure your room is dark, cool, with minimum noise and distractions. Try not to have caffeine past 4pm. If that isn't working for you, then see a doctor. "PM" medicines aren't made strictly to put you to sleep. If you really need something, then get the proper medication.

Anytime you use a medicine/prescription for uses other than they are intended for, is cause to worry.
In fact, even prescription sleep aids are not always safe either.
Have you tried to take a warm shower or bath before bedtime? Perhaps use some lavender scented candles or bubble bath to help you relax. Try natural methods first, before using any type of medicine. Also -- whatever you decide to try out, give it a week, before you call it quits. Less than a week, and you won't know if it really worked or not.
Do you have lots on your mind? Try writing your thoughts before bed, or read a good book. Listen to soft music. Be creative!
Always use medicines as a last resort/option.

I got addicted to Benedryl for a while. But according to the commercial Nyquil doesn't have rick of dependency. So youre in the clear as far as I am concerned.
But try not to take it every night, it could be kinda bad for you.
I recommend music and a sleep mask, thats what gets me to sleep.

How often is "sometimes"?
If you're taking Nyquil more than 3-4 times a week, and it's been going on for a few months, you might have a problem.

Nyquil contains sedative antihistamines as the active ingredient to promote sleepyness. But its "inert" primary ingredient is alcohol. The antihistamines are not known to be habit forming, so no, you are not a druggie. Alcohol, though, is habit forming, so you could become an alcoholic without realizing it!

A concern with Nyquil of any formulation is that it contains acetaminophen (also known as Tylenol). It is essential to avoid excessive amounts of acetaminophen as this may cause damage to the liver.
