deuteronomy 21:18-20
18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard."

how come if hes rebellious you are supposed to tell the priests/judges that he is profligate and a drunkard? who said anything about him being drunk? is there a mistranslation here?

being rebellious by becoming a drunk- going against his parents-- you know every child goes through that rebellious time, and ends up joining in with the world and sin. This verse goes perfectly well together with how one who does not obey will have consequences.

Now of course now, since Christ, we will all be judged by GOD ALONE. There are no more need for priests as Jesus is our one "high" priest as the bible says. We are to confess to Him. Our children who do not obey need to also pray and ask the Lord's forgiveness and it is our job to train them in righteousness-- of course disciplining them when they do not obey and praying that the Lord teach them and that they follow His word.

This is used as an example of how a son might be "stubborn and rebellious", especially back in those times. It is saying that you should describe what he is doing that is stubborn and rebellious.

The 'rules and laws' of the Old were replaced by the New because change was necessary for comprehension. Just as our words are censored in this forum so must we find other ways to express our views. You make good aruguments for why I do not believe that The Holy Bible is "God's" word.

That's how sons usually rebel, by having sex, drinking and partying. Is that any different than teenagers today?

It was an example of the form your statement should take. "Here is my bad son... and these are the bad things he did."
