i want to freeze a shepherds pie in a pyrex dish is that safe?

Yes they are manufactured to a very high degree and will not suffer at all. However i would advise caution if you are intending to place it into a hot oven straight from the freezer or vice-versa. It may be an idea to defrost it in the microwave (on defrost mode naturally) first.

When you buy Pyrex it comes with instructions that say not to take it from refrigerator or freezer to oven, let it get to room temp first. The instructions also say not to put a hot Pyrex dish on anything cold, and not to set it on a wet counter or cutting board.

Pyrex can be frozen but be careful when you take it out of the freezer, thaw the dish carefully as the shock of different temperatures can cause the Pyrex to shock and crack or shatter don't be tempted to put the frozen dish into the oven.

Yes. Freeze then you can bake in the same dish.
Look at the bottom of the dish, it will tell you waht I just said.

Yes course it is!! BUT when you reheat the shepherd, make sure the dish comes up to room temp first.

Yes. Just make sure you defrost it in the fridge before heating it. If you don't your dish will crack.

It is perfectly save as long as the dish is not still hot when you do.
