it doesnt matter if you blow dry your hair or not...yes your hair will be damaged but as long as you take proper care of it, it wont look like a desaster. now if your putting bleach in your hair and heat then yeah you'll eventually have to cut one out of the picture, but just use heat protective products before flat ironing, and maybe use something like bedhead's after party to tame down the frizzies or fly aways.
as far as the moiserizing shampoos i wouldnt recommend for an everyday thing becuase when you over moisterize as soon as you stop your hair will get extremely oily to make up for the loss. and the deep conditioners should only be used once to twice a month, you dont want to mess with your scalp (cuz thats what those kind of products do) you just mainly want to take care of your ends.

It may depend on the type of hair you have but, i have a Remington straightener, its not expensive or high tech, but it works for me. & the thing i like about it is that the hot plates are coated with something (i forgot what its called) that helps prevent damage to your hair.
I wash my hair, blow dry it, then straighten it every day. & sometimes i touch it up with my straightener in the evening. Sometimes i come across a split end, but other than that, my routine doesnt seem to damage my hair.
Try it out and see if you like it, if you dont then you can just return your straightener & try something else that works well for you... =D

well it would be VERY damaging. i do all that 5-7 days of the week too. For about 2 years, && belive me youre hair gets very damaged. My mom urges me to to stop; but after a while you cant stop; youre hair gets damaged; && if you dont straighten it; it looks bad. You can always cut the split ends, but they always will come back, as long as your straightening your hair.

It's always gonna damage your hair if you do it everyday like you said you do. But since you do - it's good that you condition it all the time. If you put a high powered flat iron on your hair then I don't see why you're worried about blow drying.

honestly i straighten my hair 5 out of 7 days too. but i use conair wet to straight. with yours if you want an expensive one then it must get really HOTT. mine was $30 and if you wash and condition your hair everyday and treat it by not straightening it for two days then thats great. with my hair, i started to lose some which everyone does after a while, so get scruching gel and scruch your hair for 10 days (school days) and then your hair will not fall out anymore. then u can straighten again.

My fiance has a chi, I bought it for her as an anniversary present. She she uses it every morning, and washes and shampoos every other day, about 3 or 4 days per week. Her hair is as soft as a baby's.......
Dying and highlighting your hair, IMHO, is ten times worse for you hair than any of those daily / weekly routines you mentioned. I say go for it.

i don't think it would be that damaging, as long as you didn't blow dry your hair. but to be on the safer side, maybe lessen it to 4 days out of the week, i hear chi's can do some damage even if you are being extra careful.

very...you should only flat iron your hair at least once a week and no more. aslo if its a good, expensive flat iron then you wont need to flat iron your hair 5 days a week. not only will your hair suffer from heat damage also product build up will play a factor.

probably not too bad. i do all that and i blow dry some times, and its not damaged as far as i can tell. loreal studio hot straight is a great heat protectant by the way. it also makes straightening easier.
