My friend and I are each buying one from Cabela's this weekend, but we're not willing to pay more than 200 dollars each. What are some of the best .22 rifles we could buy in that price range?

. As a Gunsmith & Gun Shop Owner, I would suggest you check out the Marlin Model 925 clip fed bolt action rifle.7+1 magazine capacity, 22" micro-grooved rifling barrel, drilled and tapped for a scope. Weighs only 5.5 lbs empty. This gun also comes with the new Marlin 900 series trigger group as a standard no additional cost item. This gun retails for just under $200 and I have sold 6 already this year. I think Cabelas carrys them but I have my own distributors so I don';t know Cabelas selling price. Good Luck and Safe Shooting!

The Marlin 925. It comes in magnum or LR and it costs around $160. I own various .22 rifles and i definatly prefer the 925M over all my other guns. Also a ruger 10/22 is another great gun.

Marlin 925, Mossberg 802, Henry Mini bolt, and Savage Mark I & Mark II. All of these are $125 to $225 new. I'm looking at shooting times 2008 gun guide right now, and for bolt action these are the only rifles that meet you critera. Personally I owned the Henry and hate it. So go with the Marlin, Savage, or Mossberg, which ever one is the best deal that day.....

I bought a Marlin model 25N a couple years ago for my son. The gun cost a $140 and I topped it with a $30 scope. At 25 yards I can put the whole clip (7 rounds) in a circle the size of a quarter. Deadly accurate gun. I might not let him take it when he moves out!
