I'm getting my first tattoo next week, and I'm just wanting an idea on the price of it before I go in. It's going to be a mult-colored one, so i know i need to figure that into the price...and it's going to be roughly a 3inX3in on my lower back. If anyone knows a rough price range??

ok, to give a little more insight... the tattoo is going to be of Tinkerbell w/ some racing (checkered) flags...and i'm getting it done in New Mexico...

it really varies from shop to shop, some charge by the hour (anywhere from $100-200 an hour depending on complexity), others charge a rate based on size and complexity of the tattoo (usually starting around $50 for the most basic and working up from there). You really won't be able to tell unless you go into a shop and get a quote. I had one done on my hip a few years ago that was about that size and it cost around $150

it depends on the shop and how they charge. alot of places charge more for the more colors they use and how much detail there is and some have per hour prices. i would get a rough sketch drawn up and ask for some quotes from a couple different shops. Also make sure you check out their work prior to getting the tat.

It really depends on what part of the country you are in and how detailed it is. Also, some charge more depending on placement. Most shops charge and hourly fee of $125 and up per hour.

well, it really depends what it is..if it's a detailed tattoo it's roughly $175.00 pr hour..it depends how long it will take them to do your tattoo and how popular your artist is. -just went last weekend to check the prices too.

Well it depends on the shop actually, but for a tat that size, it should range from 150-200$$.
Oh && are you sure you want a fairy on your back FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? think about it.
