I am sticking with my preseason pick of Denny Hamlin. This kid is an awesome racecar driver. He sets in the second spot in points. He has had some bad luck earlier in the season, on pit row, that cost him at least three wins. His luck is beginning to change. Jeff will slow in his momentum, some what, and Denny Hamlin will drive his way to the Nextel Cup Champion.

I honestly think Jeff Burton will be a strong contender for the championship. If he doesn't win points, I see him finishing in the top three in points at the end of the season.
I'd like to see any of the RCR cars win it, assuming that all three make it, but we'll see how that goes. There's the obvious people like Gordon and Johnson that will likely be up there, but also don't forget about Hamlin and Kenseth who are just as consistent as anyone. Kenseth could win his second championship if he gets on a streak.

At this time looks like Jeff Gordon...but I'd love to see Denny Hamlin take it, someone new.. Wouldn't mind seeing Burton or Happy Harvick win either, since Jr is not going to win it, but I will pray for miracles,and tons of good luck for Dale Jr...

its hard to say this year with the field of 12 being even out and then only can receive points for the wins they have accumulated over the season....I really want to say Gordon but hes not very good at the last 10 tracks of the season and he already lost once with the chase......He had a 500 and something point lead going into the chase a few years ago and took second when it was all done.....so its anybodys race when the chase starts
