Avatar defender - So, the devil put that tree there? I mean, it serves no other purpose but to tempt those two. Otherwise, why have it there?

Samurai Jack... you're gonna give yourself an aneurysm!

I had asked the same thing, you'd think some of them would say, Hey that's not right..... humankind was setup to fail! But no, they attempt some kind of voodoo reasoning to justify the whole event.

First, erase the word "mythology". The Greeks and Romans and Norsemen had mythology because their beliefs were fictitious. Ours are factual, therefore, not mythology.
Second, God gave Adam and Eve mutual exclusive commandments. They could not obey the second commandment to multiply and replenish without first breaking the first commandment to not eat of the forbidden fruit. It was necessary for Adam and Eve to first excercise their agency by choosing to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Thus, God did not give them a consequence for not multiplying because He knew that eventually they would eat and become mortal and have offspring. The first commandment had a consequence so that they could make a valid choice to eat or not to eat based upon the choice given them. God knew that eventually they would partake. Having partaken, exercising their agency, they began to know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong. Hence, they covenanted with God that from that time forward, they would obey His word and keep His commandments.

First of all Christianity is not a myth- and yes, God knew what Adam and Eve would do, however, He is not the one that tempted them. He gave them THE WHOLE, beautiful garden, in which to enjoy, and SATAN came to tempt. God does not tempt- they did not have to fall into the sin- a temptation is not sin, falling into it is. Do not blame God for what we as humans do perfectly well on our own- separate ourselves from God because of our sin- if this is what God really wanted us to do, would He have sent His Son to save us? What would have been the point. God is never caught off guard by anything we do- He knows what is in our hearts, and thoughts, long before we act on them

1. Please don't call it mythology. Some people believe things like Adam and Eve are real and to call it a myth would just insult them.
2. He had to know. He knows all things.
3. The reason God probably let sin come in was to see how much we truely loved him. I mean, what would you rather have, a child who had a button you could press and they would say I love you, or a true child who said it from their heart if they had the choice not to love you?
3. Jews, Muslims, and other religions believe in Adam and Eve. It is not only Christian.

G_D never tempted Adam and Eve. He doesn't relate to humanity like that. He laid down His Laws and made them clear and simple. Adam and Eve disobeyed His direction to avoid eating of the Tree of Knowlege of Good and Evil.

God didn't tempt them. The Devil did.

And yes God knew they would be Tempted and Fall. That is why He foreordained the His Son Jesus Christ to Redeem them from the Fall. It was part of the plan.

Of course he knew what they would do, and it was part of God's plan that they do so:

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Not necessarily. I think he was testing some of his heavenly family. It is evident that they had duties of watching over the human pair. We should not be worrying about things of which we can have no knowledge, it's none of our business. God left enough commandments for us to follow, and we should be worrying about doing those. And I doubt if God is ever "caught off guard." Who do you think you are talking about, your "Uncle Louie!"

But if god is omniscient then God created the devil, knew of all evil before it happened.

If God is all knowing all powerful then there is no free will.

And if free will does exist and so does God, then miracles sort of make a mockery of free will don't they?
