Looks like there's different versions, can you give me your recipe for this?

Not me.
Mix together 1/4 c. flour, 1/2 tsp salt & pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, onion powder & dry thyme, 10 oz can condensed beef broth, 1 1/2 tbs worcestershire ; set aside. Brown 1 1/4 lb lean ground beef w/ 1/2 c. chopped onion; drain. Add 10 oz pkg peas & carrots, 1 c. diced potatoes (cut small-about 1/2 inch) & reserved sauce. Bring to a boil, simmer 10 minutes (until potatoes are almost soft). Preheat oven to 375. Spray 13 x 9 pan with cooking spray. Pour meat mixture into pan. Top with either 6 servings prepared mashed potatoes (sprinkle w/paprika) OR 1 tube of biscuits (10 to a tube), cut in quarters. Bake 15-18 minutes or until potatoes/biscuits are brown. You can also add a small can of corn, drained in the the beef/veggie mixture.

I've made Sheppard's pie with & without crust both are good. The thing about that type of meal is you don't HAVE to make it a certain way, you can vary by what you like & what ingredients you have on hand.

Mmmm, I love this dish! I put hamburger on the bottom, then I put corn, THEN the special ingredient - cream corn! Then I continue with the mashed potatoes. The cream corn just makes it nice and moist. I've never used a crust, so I can't comment on that....

I add mashed the bottom as my pie crust, and on the top
just make a regular mashed potatoes
for filling left over pot roast, peas, pearl onions that I saute before with balsamic until brown, with the stock form the pot roast add corn starch, red wine (I like wines on my food) until creamy consistency add the shredded pot roast, peas and pearl onions, on casserole dish , spread the mashed potatoes on the bottom and on the sides add the filling top with more mashed potatoes
