Most likely the officer will appear in court and acknowledge that he wrote the ticket to start with. Your guilty!

Chances are the cost of the fine is minimal! Pay the fine and next time park legally!

No, the parking ticket is not valid. However, most people pay them if they don't notice. Since you did, take it to the office and tell them that you aren't paying it because it's not a valid finished ticket.

Yeah, it is still valid. And if you contest it, the officer will appear in court to confirm he did write the ticket.
