In this one. I am hoeing in a field of beans, cut out the weeds. I stop and see a man standing near a fence about two hundred feet a way, just smoking a cigarette. I turn to say something to my brother when he yells, "That man disappeared!" I turn to see a puff of smoke floating in the air but no man. The ground was flat and there was no place for the man to hide. I had dreamed about a person disappearing and I needed a cigarette but my dad would beat me if I got caught. I said, "Rog, I'm gonna get a cig down in the woods."
Rog says, "I don't want one, Alex."
I'm in the woods lighting up a cigarette, when I hear.
"Alex think you can get a way from me?" the voice sends a chill up my spine and my hands begin to shake. I turn to see a dark haired man, I think he was the one I saw smoking.
"Now you die." he said and raise the gun towards me.
"Not this time Jax." the voice comes from behind me.
A flash of light and I wake up.

Wow, what a dream!

To see what it might mean, you'd have to figure out what smoking symbolized to you: maturity? masculinity? rebellion? danger? Whatever it means, the man is the "real" symbol that puts out wispy, smoky symbols. If smoke means maturity to you, then the man is you, and the mature individual that you're going to become.

Then I'd say that you, hoeing beans and cutting out the weeds, means that you are getting rid of some unnecessary thing in your life so that the important things can grow. (Weeds = unnecessary things, Beans = important things).

Then the man is near a fence. For some reason I think the fence might be an important symbol too, since it "frames" the smoking man: it's what he's standing near to. Maybe the fence symbolized your usual place of safety in life: your family, your routine, your work, your sanctuary.

Then your brother tells you the guy disappears. You don't see him disappear, but you don't see him there except for the smoke he left behind. Smoke = maturity? Whatever it means to you, part of you thinks you can avoid him, or thinks that he has stopped being there.

Then when you go beyond the fence (out of the area of your comfort and safety) to practice being mature, to do mature things, or to do whatever kinds of things smoking symbolizes to you, the man reappears and tells you you can't avoid him.

Sticking with the maturity theory: part of you might be thinking you can keep the fun and irresponsibility and naivte of childhood, or at least adolescence, but part of you knows maturity and adulthood can't be escaped.

It's real interesting to me that you're not sure it's the same man as before. Part of you is still hoping that maturity and adulthood can be stalled.

He wants to kill you because youth has to die to make room for adulthood. Wordsworth or Coleridge or one of those old guys said "The child is the father of the man." The "you" that is a child/adolescent has to go away, or "die" for the "you" who is an adult to be able to show up.

That man who symbolized maturity might be trying to take away your adolescence before you think it's time to give it up.

No idea who "Jax" is. If you were North American and specifically from the south, I'd try to tie it in with "Jax" beer that they used to sell 20 yrs ago, but ... I dunno what that might mean.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see or dream that you are smoking a cigar, represents luxury and a relaxed state of mind. You are in control of your own emotions and passions. According to Freud, a cigar is a phallic symbol and is representative of masculinity and raw energy. This dream symbol may also serve as a symbol for someone you know who smokes cigars. To see dried or shriveled cigars may be a pun on your lack of a sex life.

I reckon it's an anxiety dream. Are you anxious or fearful of something going on in your life? There also may be a twinge of guilt in it, but I'm not certain. On the bright side, you wake up and avoid being shot. This to me shows that you know a way out of your dilemma in real life.
