You are a horrible person, why would you go and say that to anyone!!! Specially to a good friend who knows you for 6 years; you suck!
You dont know how to talk to people.. you cant just go up to someone and say you dont like them! Not even as a mean joke.
Get in touch with the person and sincerely apologise to him; and consider yourself lucky if he still wants to be your friend and dont do anything stupid and immature like this ever again!

That was the most idiotic, immature, selfish and thoughtless conversation I ever heard. Unless you are about 13 there is no excuse for what you said. It was curt and callous. You just blew it with your "friend", and if you really did think he was a friend, you wouldn't have disrespected him like you just did.
I doubt you broke his heart. You more likely pissed him off monumentally and are now on his crap list. How would you feel if someone said that to you?
You really screwed up.

He might have liked you back, but he just wouldnt admit it.
i think you should try getting a hold of him only a couple more times and if he doesnt respond or anything. let him get some space...i know it may be hard but just try to leave him alone for a bit. then a couple days later try talking to him again and really explain that u want to be really good friends with him. and talk about it with each other.

He was just probably busy that's why he signed off so quickly. Or if he really did get hurt with what you said he will probably cool off and talk to you about it. I mean you said that you two have been friends for 6 years. that little conversation is not going to make him stop talking to you

It's the way you did it...rough! That's horrible, even if he didnt like you, he probably knew you liked him and that probably flattered him seeing as how you were friends. And then you said that to him?! Wow, dont expect him to talk to you ever again!

I think you probably surprised him... He probably had no clue you liked him. Now things have gotten awakward... You probably should've just kept that information to yourself. I would try to contact him next time he's available and apologize for any shock... And ask if he'd like to be friends.
