I think I'm in the obese category. My Goal is to reduce 30-40 lbs in 3-4 months. Is this a realistic goal? I'm trying to exercise and reduce my weight. I am a member at the local YMCA. What are the best exercises to do in the GYM and how much calories I should burn daily? How should I change my diet?

You're a little overweight. You should decide how many calories you want in your diet, and then I would recomend looking for items that are low calorie, but also low fat, but it all depends on what you are doing for your diet. The main thing for a diet to work is just to consume fewer calories than what you are burning, so lower calorie is best. But the thing about just lower calorie is that you don't want to get something that is lower calorie, but still has a ton of fat, and you don't want to get something that is low calorie but with a ton of sugar. Just look at the labels and you need to figure out what fits into YOUR diet.

No long winded speeches, no fad diet nonsense here. You should be around 130 to 160 pounds so just follow this plan an you'll be set i promise. Eat what you like. Just keep it to1200 calories a day (healthier is better obviously) and sweat and I mean SWEAT!! for 30-40 minutes a day 6-7 days a week. Use the circuit training equipment and keep a record of how you're doing. Remember the more you sweat the more you can add to your eating plan. Write down everything you eat with calorie content. This will give you an overall look at where you need to make changes. Don't cheat, you're only fooling yourself and don't skip workouts. You should be losing about between 2-3 pounds a week, which is a healthy rate without starving yourself...Good luck!

This is absolutely obtainable. The problem most have is sticking with it. To eat right make breakfast your largest meal of the day with a total of five meals a day. Stay within 3000 calories and you will lose 2.5-3 a week. Walking is the best remedy to burn fat. 10,000 steps a day at a conversational pace focuses on fat while running burns carbs for energy.
