I think that LDS members and critics alike can join hands at this time in bereavement for the passing of one true class-act leader of the LDS Church. President Faust rarely had a negative thing to say about anyone and was truly an example of Christian service and love to all, no matter what your belief.

I truly believe he will be missed by all, both inside and outside of the LDS Church.

What a truly humbling moment it was when I heard the President Faust passed away. The one thing that I will miss most about his passing was his conviction to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each time I watched him speak was like he was speaking directly to me. At times, when he needed to reprove he would not hesitate to vocalize it and other times when he needed to be compasionate, there was none with more sincerity. His love and passion for like will be felt for many generations to come. He has greatly impacted my life and the lives of my family members. Now the opportunity has arisen for him to touch the souls of those who have passed on.

He will be missed.

In a way, it is sad, but then (at the risk of sounding rather cliche here), he's in a better place now. He had some health problems during the last few years of his mortal life, and now he's free from them. I can't help but think that he certainly left some big shoes to fill, though! (He always had a way with words, being able to directly present an idea without being mean or rude in any way.)

President Faust was deeply loved by the Brazilian people. He served his mission there many years ago, and visited often. It seems to me he was even called a "Citizen of Sao Paulo" or something of that nature. He will be sorely missed.

President Faust gave a talk that I read over and over again.
In the talk he promised, that as long as we as parents are faithful...our children will come back to us either in this life...or in Heaven. And that has really helped me in times when my children have doubting questions...

:)

We were camping this weekend, and my baby was cold and not sleeping..so my husband and I went to our van with her to turn on the heater...and only could tune into AM radio...that's when we heard the news. Terribly sad.

I am thinking, he got a promotion! He will be missed.

Also special thanks for all of the comments here which have been so positive. There is goodness in the world, and on yahoo answers.

There have been many wonderful articles written about his life, check out desnews.com and sltrib.com. He accomplished so much.

Although I never personally met him, he was president of my husband's stake many years ago and was one of my father-in-law's best friends. They always spoke so tenderly about him.
As for me, personally, I always loved to hear him speak. His testimony of the Savior was always so touching. To think now that he is in the arms of his Savior and being reunited with friends and family members who predeceased him brings a smile to my face. Yes, he will be missed. My condolences to his loved ones.

I think I'll always remember the last few GC where he spoke from his chair. His commitment and earnestness (is that a word) about the gospel was amazing. He truly passed on the Savior's message of love.

I liked that he could be direct without being rude about it (oh, that we should all be that way, me included). He also had a way of putting the humor into things when appropriate (I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that's one of God's requirements for being an apostle).

I never knew of the man until I saw the page you pointed me to. Will he be missed at this place? Not likely as much here as elsewhere.
