I am looking for a shampoo that is sulfate free? Does anyone have a great shampoo? I know that salons like Aveda etc sell great products. Anyone USE sulfate free shampoo, I know that drug store brands pretty much all of them have sulfate.

Try your local health food stores. They all carry beauty products now. Jason and Kiss My Face are two really good natural product lines. And don't have nearly the mark up Aveda does. (Aveda is great if you make a ton of $$$, for the rest of us, we use the health food store!)

Although there is no hard evidence that the percentages of sulfates used in shampoos are harmful, tar or glycerin-based shampoo should be free of sulfates. They are at grocery and drug stores, as well as most so-called natural-food stores.

The links, below, give descriptions of "sulfates" and compare shampoos, etc.

Hey there-
You might try a company called Lamas (try on line or at health food shops). I have used their Rice shampoo before, and it's sulfate-free. Some "natural" brands are not as high quality and dried my hair out, but this one seems very luxurious, is gentle and gave my hair lots of body. I only switched, because now my hair is colored and REALLY has "special needs." Good luck!

There is a line called Enjoy that I got from my salon that is sulfate free. Worked well. It was about $17 a bottle. The oil shine stuff is great for frizzy hair.

Pureology Purify is a zero sulfate shampoo. I use it to negate medication that gets into my roots and cause hair color not to take correctly. It's very effective stuff--worth the money.

ooh...Pantene isn't good for the hair. Adds build up to the hair. Use Mastey. It's sulfate free. And a Professional product.

Yes! Pureology is great. It smells really fresh and has no sulfate in it. I use it and love it! The only draw back is the price (~$18 a bottle). But it really helps keep my high lights in and is totally worth it:)

I have really bad water (VERY IRONY), blond hair and use a product called Malibu 2000. It keeps the orange look out of my hair. They have a whole line of products for people with well water, if that is what you're looking for. Their products are available on Hair Care USA's web site. Also Dr. Bronner's soap works well, though I find it to be a little harsh on my scalp.

These ones work really well, but are a little expensive. You can get this at a natural market.

Target and Walgreens have the burt's bees shampoo

While it is true that you can used dr broners on your hair it does not do well on hair. My BF and I both tried it while camping and it made our hair stick together.
