Yes. If you have Microsoft Office and SP2, you have Windows Movie Maker - whether you know it or not. Try the Start Menu -> Search function for Movie Maker.
Then export the PowerPoint slides each to an image (sorry, animation isn't an option, except via WMM transitions and its few animations), and load them in. From there, it's easy.
Good luck and have fun.

Go for Shellback Bill's suggestion. Open Office is exceptionally good when compared to Microsoft Office. It's more powerful and can view, edit and save in many more formats that Microsoft Office. I have just (four days ago) used Open Offices version (Impress) to do a slide show with over 50 images and recorded the show to CD. It works well both with my PC and my DVD player (for TV Viewing). I had to get it to work with DVD Players as the CD has been taken to Canada for somebody. One of the best sites to get it from is www.computeractive.co.uk or alternatively try www.download.com

The most popular program that does this is Camtasia Studio. It records video from your screen, plus you can record audio with it, which could be narration, etc. This all goes into an MPEG file that you can play like a movie.
There's a free version called Camstudio. I don't know how well it works, but what the heck, for free it's worth a try! You can find it at camstudio.org.

check out something called power video maker on Download.com I use this program to convert my power point presentation to a CD ROM disc that I can play in any DVD player. I think at first it will convert the file to some thing manageable like an mpeg file then I just burnt it to a cd with Nero. I hope this helps.

the best way i could tell you is going to depend on which operating system you're working on. but seeing that i believe everyone SHOULD be on a mac, i will answer your question accordingly. ;)
the easiest way i could think of is to use a screen cap program. like Screen Mimic ( https://www.polarian.com ). it's a great program allowing all kinds of options for recording.
BUT...if you're on winblows (opps....sorry, i mean windows).....you're going to have to find another program since Screen Memic is only Mac. here...i did a quick search and found this one (plus it's free)
