I do. I agree with CJ, although I'd like to add an additional thought. No spiritual entity of any faith can be connected to the "GOD" that is referred to on the dollar. Therefore, it looks very obvious that stamping "IN GOD WE TRUST" on money is not so much a statement that "God" is being trusted, but that the "God" in which they trust IS money.
For example, if I stamped "IN GOD I TRUST" onto a picture of Kim Jong-il or David Koresh, it would appear to be a statement saying that THEY are "GOD". Or if I stamped it onto a statue of a golden calf, it would be an obvious statement that the "GOD" I was referring to would be the Golden Calf.
In this case, "IN GOD WE TRUST" is stamped on money. So naturally, I think the "GOD" that is referred to is money. It doesn't seem to be about any entity of any religion (there are too many inconsistencies on the dollar bill for that). It appears plain as day to me, to be about greed. Money. Lol, and it's quite obvious isn't it, that money is god in America?
So yes, as a Christian, as a mere human being, I do think "IN GOD WE TRUST" should be taken off the dollar bill, because it's a claim that "GOD" is money. Way to lord it over the masses, eh?
I love that you asked this question!

I highly doubt many Christians will want to take that saying off the money, it would be against the theocratic ideology that they support. Most Christians I talk to would love to see freedom taken away from the people and declare this some sort of Christian nation, even though there is no God or Reference to the bible in the Constitution or Declaration of independence. They would most likely repeal the first amendment and send folks like me to a concentration camp if it were not for our laws and good ethics created by men. Remember, our laws not only protect religion, but they protect us from religion as well.

Our one(English) says:
"I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of twenty pounds."
"The Governer and company of The Bank of England"
Sometimes I think its a cultural thing. In England we have a drab National Anthem, "God Save the Queen"-ROFL. But hey some of our other national music is good full orchestra music, and the vast majority of it, does have a very Christian theme.
I wouldn't change any of it.
On our notes we also have a British "Innovator" too, I think Darwin has been on our currency.

Lol. "In God We Trust" isn't working out too well. The economy is tanking and the dollar is losing ground fast. Trust in God might help some through personal issues, but it doesn't do a damn thing for the economy.
Maybe we should change the slogan to "Spend Me Wisely".

True Christians don't care since it's part of the world that they are no part of. The world will continue to do its thing until God comes and changes things.

Christians are schizophrenic. The reason why is that most of them are conservatively minded, politically, which means freedom, freedom, freedom. Except for religion - oppressive views are okay :) Now, if constitutional fanatics are so into the founding fathers, why on earth would "In god we trust" be on our currency? Doesn't that infringe upon my freedom of believing in, say, a pile of dirt?
In order to be truly free to choose our own religion, we cannot be bombarded by godly statements. Particularly godly statements that are manufactured and printed by the government. I do not understand this schism of the religious right.

I'm here to save you as you asked.
"In God We Trust" violates the very basis that this country was founded on: "Separation of Church and State".
First and foremost, we are NOT a Christian nation. We are a religiously open-minded country that just happens to have a Christian majority.

In God we Trust stays, as do the red, white, and blue stripes on the flag that so many died for...Our patriot songs of God Bless America, etc.
American does not have a government supported religion such as " the church of England"... that is what separation of church and state is...
the attempt to divide a nation against itself based on spiritual / Biblical principals is exactly what Satan would / is doing to destroy a nation from with in.....
Abraham Lincoln said "a house divided can not stand"....his words are still ringing true......
think about the greater good instead of your own little noise...

Jesus grew to grow to be offended no longer because of the fact issues have been being bought interior the temple. those issues had to be bought in that locale because of the fact human beings would desire to no longer deliver them on their long journeys with them.
