Recent discussions in the Senate from the Democratic Party have been over the question of granting voting privileges to illegal immigrants. Do you think this is a good idea?

I heard a radio announcement and did a web search. Here are some articles that I jut pulled up. It looks like more local, state level, then federal, but is that still a good thing? There is also verbage regarding non-legal, non-citizen, etc. Somebody please explain.

NO! They are not citizens so why should they get any benefits which suggests that they are?
Voting is a SPECIAL result of being a citizen and FIGHTING for your country...not something that people get for breaking the laws of the land!

What part of illegal don't they understand. Sneaky people, coming here because they can't make a go of it in their own country! Once in America, most High School kids could go to the local store and get a summer job, or if they had graduated from High School could actually get a job to help them go to College or take some courses, might even help them in the job they had too. The kids of America needed these jobs. But, some thing happened, the jobs stopped, some one else had their jobs. And they were mostly white and some employers liked to hire white kids instead of black kids. The employers were not honest, they didn't pay the illegal adults a good pay because they couldn't speak good English and because they were illegal. If you were a good looking girl, well, your body was as lo exploited, but you couldn't say anything about it. SO The American kids without jobs started to use drugs, and buy and sell them. This started a trade that the illegal person also joined in to. \\What happened to the school system full of drop outs and drug pusher because of illegal immigrants.

I don't think this is true. And if i was to give you the benefit of the doubt, I would have to say no. Some Americans vote while not knowing who they are voting for. They just like to go for the most popular name. So why let illegals do the same. It will just ruin the system.

You mean should people in/from other countries be able to vote in OUR elections??? Oh sure. Then lets also "grant" them a new house, a new car, and maybe a boat or RV too. We have already "granted" them medical care...paid for by honest, hard working, LEGAL Americans. You can have all this, just vote Democratic.

Let us all agree on a compromise!!! Illegal aliens can have the right to vote in the USA as long as we as American citizens can vote in the Mexican elections. Make sense??? Yeah about as much sense as them voting here.

Who told you that crap? Rush Limbaugh? Illegal immigrants should not, and never will, get voting privileges as those are reserved for citizens. Now if those immigrants are granted citizenship, then they will have the right to vote. As to your claim that the Dems in the Senate are considering just granting them the right to vote, well without a source I'd say either you or the one who told you that are full of sh!t.

Until they become citizens they should not have the right to vote. I don't want anyone who is illegal here and getting citizenship should not be made easier for them.

NO - even legal immigrants (unless you become a US citizen) do not get the right to vote, why should illegals get that right?

There is a sure-fire way to see if this is a good idea. Insist on "reciprocity"...our citizens should be able to participate in other foreign countries elections. You'll see how that idea would be insulting anywhere else on the planet for obvious reasons.
