First time in New York and wanted to feel the "buzz" so wanted to stay slap bang in the middle of Times Square and after alot of research (use www.tripadvisor.com - it's great!) opted for the Rennaisance in Times Square (which is part of the Marriott group if you collect points like me!) and was not disappointed.
The location was fab - step out of the door and you have it all!. They say it is THE place to be on New Years Eve as they drop the big ball outside this Hotel!
The rooms, service etc were first class. A nice quiet comfortable haven to return to after a busy day as a tourist in NY - great for re-charging your battery! The Concierge service is brilliant - lots of help and advice, they even got theatre tickets that were "sold out" for us.
Did also check out the Double Tree Suites opposite as people we met were staying there and said how good they were. We asked to check out a room and they were very big, some with little kitchenettes too - ideal for a family. Would definately consider staying there next time too (part of Hilton group - so more points from this option too!)
What ever your choice, remember with a city like New York, you will only really be using to sleep etc as there is just so much to see and do!
And as mentioned before, check out www.tripadvisor.com for reviews on any hotel and you will be able to make a more informed decision!
Enjoy - you'll have a great trip!!!

From Central Park on right down to Lady Liberty are simply some of the important items to see in New York City and the others of them you will discover when you get here with the aid of this web site Hotelbye . Nobody can head to New York without strolling, a minumum of one time through Central Park. Central Park is just a very huge park with lots of intriguing places like: the tranquil Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, the Sheep Meadow all through the summer or the lines from Lewis Carroll's poem “Jabberwocky” engraved over the foot of the Alice in Wonderland statue

We stayed in the Doubletree Suites on Times Square when we went to New York. I was very pleased with the hotel, and we were able to either walk everywhere we wanted to go or jump on the subway. They do provide breakfast, although we generally went out to one of the local places to eat.

There are some reliable cyber web sites that would get you a reliable motel for a good deal. We those days stayed on the Sheraton long island for a week, and it fee us under £4 hundred the internet internet site i'd propose is Hotwire. expenditures are in funds, and it permits you to choose the final area the place you will desire to stay and materials the main factors of the motel (enormous call score, centers, and so on.) It would not supply you the call of the motel till you have booked, to ward off you doing a right away assessment and them dropping out on comission. We continually use it while traveling to the States and have continually been greatly surprised by using the fee discounts and the excellent lodges you finally end up in. Our final trip we did a right away assessment of the fee we paid and the fee we would have paid by using going direct by way of the motel. We saved almost £seven hundred!

We've stayed at the Westin Time Sq twice. It's smart and has good veiws from the rooms we've been in. Just a short walk to Time Sq and there's a Starbucks that you can get to from inside the hotel. Not too expensive for a good hotel.

Marriot Marquis is awsome. We stay there quite frequently. However you didnt state your price range. The Mariott isnt too bad at arout 300 a night, but you can find the econo lodge closer to 150, but without all the glitter and niceness.

If you stay in Times Square, your going to be paying for it. The Marriott is nice, and is right smack in the middle of Times Square.
