Do you believe in intercessory prayer, that is prayer on behalf of another person?

The definition of the word pray is "to make a fervent request or entreaty"

Catholics, as do all other Christians, believe that when the body dies the spirit lives on. When we pray (that is fervently request) to saints to pray to God on our behalf, in much the same way we ask our living brothers and sisters to pray to God on our behalf. This does not mean that we as Catholics do not pray directly to God. We pray directly to God both publicly and privately. If you have ever attended a Catholic Mass, you will hear many prayers made directly to god including the Lord's Prayer (Our Father...).

We DO pray to God directly and anybody who told you otherwise is lying. We pray to God all the time, before (and after) meals, before we go to bed, whenever we want to, same as you.

We also ask saints to pray for us because we know that "good and faithful servants" are "put in charge of many things" in the Master's Kingdom. Says so in the Bible. See Matthew 25:21.

We pray to the Saints so that they may intercede to God for us. Yes, we can pray directly to God, but God so honors the saints in this manner because of the devotion they showed him in their earthly lives.

it is not an either or.

Many of us do pray to God, on a daily basis.

Asking for the intercession of the Saints is much like other christians who ask their family and friends to pray for them.

The Intercession of the Saints is just another one of God's blessings upon the Catholic Church.

Peace be with you.

I do pray directly for my God........ for me the saints are examples and people that maybe we can learn from them as they choose to follow God thats what I believe..... religion can confuse people..... and I'm glad that my parents tought me to be open minded..... but for me is not based on my religion is based on my relationship with God.....

What's so wrong with asking someone to pray for me? If I ask my friend to say a prayer for me because I'm going through something difficult, does that mean I'm worshipping her? Sorry, but asking someone to say a prayer for you or asking someone for advice does not mean that you worship them.

They are simply called on for intercession not as mini-gods. They do pray to God directly as well.
