Developed in Egypt about 5,000 years ago, the greyhound breed was known before the ninth century in England, where it was bred by aristocrats to hunt such small game as hares(wabbits).
Today the dog is widely used in racing.

Thank you for all the 'interesting' answers!

The correct answer is Greyhounds.............In the English Tudor era hunting was the pastime of Lords and the upper class . The King declared the killing of ANY Greyhound a capitol crime against the realm and the culprit was immediately sentenced and put in prison for life or executed for his/her actions. Grey hounds were considered of more value than any Surf or Slave.

in case you purely want yet another gun, i might recommend getting a 20 gauge. they're mild in weight and shrink back. in addition they gets the pastime achieved. inspite of the shown fact that, i might desire to look after your 12 gauge. i take advantage of mine for all varieties of small pastime. The trick is that i take advantage of a small shot, including a 7 a million/2 or an 8. it relatively is merciful and would not create overkill. sturdy luck!

#14, but they were called ferrets.

FWIW, I think ferreting for rabbits was more of a middle-class and lower class activity than an aristocratic pastime.
