I am 13 and I weigh 235 pounds and I am 5'7". In 3 1/2 weeks I think I can lose 20 pounds by running 2 miles a day, swimming 30 minutes every other day, trampoline for 20 minutes every other day (1 day swimming, next day trampoline, ect.) 50 sit ups everyday, and do DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for 1 hour everyday. Also consuming 800 calories. (doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm not a big eater.) I will probably have a banana and yogurt for breakfast, salad for lunch, granola bar for a snack, and whatever my mom makes in a small portion for dinner (usually skinless chicken, hamburgers, meatloaf, ect.).

By doing all of this, how much weight do you think I can lose in 3 1/2 weeks?

That is not healthy and I do not recommend doing it. You will not lose 20lbs and your body will suffer. You will burn away muscle by eating that little.

It will go into catabolic state.

Your recommended allotment is:
Percent of total calories from fat: 10%
Total recommended calories per day: 1400 to 1800
Total grams of fat per day: 15 - 20 g

And that is considering you want to LOSE weight. Especially if you are going to be as active as you claim, you need it.

You want HEALTHY carbs and lots of protein.

The old ‘three square meals a day’ mantra is flawed, and not beneficial to both muscle gain and fat loss. For fat loss terms, eating 6-7 small meals is much better than eating 3 large ones—its simple energy conservation. In the body, digestion is considered work, and eating smaller meals increase your metabolic rate. For muscle gain, it ensures a continual stream of nutrients needed for muscle building during the entire day.
I recommend a meal plan more like this:

Breakfast: Oatmeal/Fruit
Snack: 1/2 tuna sandwhich or chicken breast
Lunch: Organic Peanut butter and Light jelly sandwhich
Snack: fruit
Dinner: chicken breast, low fat yogurt
Snack: Fat free cottage cheese

Or alternatively if you would like to work out as well:
Meal 1: Post workout shake
Meal 2: Lean chicken breast, 1 piece wheat bread with sugar free jelly
Meal 3: Carb-free protein bar (I’m usually in class)
Meal 4: Can of tuna, one bowl oatmeal (1/2 cup, no sugar added)
Meal 5: 2 slices wheat bread, fat-free/sugar-free lunch meat (so lean lunch meat) and fat free cheese
Meal 6: Chicken breast, 1 cup mixed greens
Meal 7: Pre-bedtime protein shake (egg/casein protein)

Basic diet tips to lose fat:
Cardio on an empty stomach if possible
Eat low-moderate GI carbs, from the GI index. These are oatmeal, wheat pasta, wheat breads, and sweet potatoes.
No carbs after 8 o’clock if possible
Eat every 2.5-3.5 hours
Cycle carbs, I go three days 150 carbs, then one day 300-400, repeat. Sort of tricks your metabolism.
Lean proteins: tuna, chicken, fish, extra lean beef if you can afford it.
Get your EFAs, your essential fatty acids. Avocados, olive oil, flaxseed oil, and natural peanut butter are good sources of this. I also supplement with CLA.
Calculate your BMR, add for your daily expenditures, and eat 400-500 less than that. This should balance out to 1-2 lbs of fat loss a week.
Eat breakfast. Just eat something without sugar in it

Also, if you really want to lose weight, forgot running two miles. Try doing HIIT. Less time, more results. http://www.youronlinefitness.com/Fitness_Articles/articles/January_2003_articles/hiit_and_other_interval_training.htm

Sorry to be the one to break this too you, but that would be a terrible idea.

Let me run through this with you, first I will point out why this wont work.

1. 800 calories a day is not going to work, if you are 235 pounds, there is no way your body will be able to function on that little amount of food, and do all these activities you are planning.

2. The "safe" amount of weight loss per week is 1-2 lbs. You should want no more than 4 or its going to be water weight and go right back on. So adjust your goal to 14 lbs (That's max, and it still might be beyond your body's safe limits to get there)

3. Reality check, have you ever run 2 miles? Let alone every day? I know I hadn't at 13. You can say your going to run a marathon everyday but when it comes to doing it you will only quit faster because the goal is unrealistic.

Run for 15 minutes straight, take a 30 minute break, and go swim for 30 minutes. Sit ups are pointless they are just another cardio excersice, if you think they burn fat off your stomach your are mistaken. If you have any energy left after the above go do your trampoline or whatever.

If your body is used to living off 3000 calories a day, and you drop it down to 2500 you will have enough to function and have a head start when you begin your cardio, I suggest keeping track of how much you eat on a normal day. Then subtracting 500 calories from that. That will be safe, effective, you won't starve yourself, and you won't get demoralized by the giant goal.

Good luck

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

I don't think you will lose any. Your body will try desperately to hold on to every scrap of nutrient that you give it because you will be in starvation mode.

With love and respect I say, if you weigh 235, you are not a light eater. Forcing your body to exist on 800 calories a day will make you very weak and sick. You will not be able to keep up that much activity either.

Talk to your doctor about how many calories a young teenager needs. Do workout! Those ideas a great! A little unrealistic, but great things to do for your health. If you do end up working our so vigorously, you will need to eat a little more to keep up. I know it doesn't make sense, but your body NEEDS food.

Good luck, sweetie. Be smart and focus on health more than pounds.

Hi. To be honest with you, there is no diet that works on a short run. You can lose some weight but eventually it will come back. You should try some of the diets that take longer but weight wont come back because your metabolism will be changed. You should try the UN diet. Everybody just says best about it. My mom lost 44 pounds in 90 days. And weight never came back. The UN diet rocks in Europe!!!

he metabolic powers particular foods have to make your body burn a lot more body fat.” It is a way of rating foods, based on “how a lot of calories your body is going to burn just breaking down the nutrients each time you consume a specific meals.”
Therefore, you are not alone in this battle.
